Dear Friends, Our Vision:

Thank you for your support in 2019! Because of your support, the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network is able to effectively reach youth and their families.

It was an exciting year as SVCN piloted the Timely Response to Adverse Community Events (TRACE) program in partnership with King County and the Seattle YMCA. The TRACE program provides resources to families when they need to be connected to additional supports. TRACE also provides timely access to a Crisis Intervention Specialist who focuses on providing behavioral health and prevention support in the Snoqualmie Valley.

Suicide Prevention remained a core program in 2019 with an expansion to include the #BeKindSV school-based positive climate program. This innovative program seeks to build a climate of kindness and care at the elementary levels that will grow and expand as the students move through the grade levels. SVCN’s Suicide Prevention program also grew this year to include Youth Mental Health First Aid workshops for adults in our community. Our hope is to increase the number of adults who are trained and willing to engage when a youth is struggling.

The year also painfully reminded us that our youth continue to struggle with substance abuse, depression and suicide. To support our community during this tough time, SVCN led efforts to provide grief workshops/opportunities to process grief, host community education events about substance abuse and behavioral health challenges, and listen to youth about what the needs and gaps are that need to be addressed. This past year reminds us all that the work is not done and that we need one another in order to do this work well.
