Area: 20 sq.m | Location: Hyderabad Type: Competition | Year: 2022

Initially, government provided housing for all the low income people (local workers) , while few of the residents left the housing and left to their villages ,rest of them gave their registered living space for rent and occupied the land on the other side unauthorised. Hence the whole area around the government housing is build using temporary building structures and ended up with very poor ventilation and unhygienic spaces.

THREE problems identified -

1.community centres going waste

2.water logging - hazardous and unhygienic

3.education- eager to learn, yet no space to accomodate.

Slum formed around the housing, as a scope of illegal stay by renting houses to else.

Electricity- it is drawn illegally from the poles which is paid during elections by the politicians .

Roads- similarly roads are provided during elections.

Waste dumps

Health care centres- anganwadi centres are provided by government. There are 9 anganwadi centres with 9 caretakers.

Garbage- it is thrown on road and gets collected in between the houses.

There is also a huge lake behind which directs water towards this area when rains and causes flooding to low elevated area.

Since there is no proper water supply, water tankers help them to store water through out
