Check the school calendar for all sporting events.

I wanted to start today by congratulating our middle school students for their outstanding production of Willy Wonka Jr ! My wife and I were discussing it afterward and were blown away by the individual student performances, staging, costumes, and set design. Congratulations to each of the students and especially to Miss Logan Vaughn (TRA ‘11) for her expert direction, Mrs. Lalania Vaughn for her steadfast work on the show, and of course our students who helped choreograph and direct certain parts of the production

I would also like to thank our many wonderful FAME volunteers for their behindthe-scenes work designing and building sets and giving so selflessly to the show.

This has been a week of bad weather. I always hate to miss school, but I also would never want one of our students to get hurt trying to get to school. For those of you who missed your parent-teacher conferences, please see your teacher for a time to meet. There is also an option to Zoom with your teacher as well.

As always, thanks to all of you for sending us these great students. We are blessed to have them at TRA

Re-enrollment links have been sent via email. The deadline for current families to reenroll in February 28. New family enrollment begins March 1.

Upper School Review

Well, it sure has been an interesting and unexpected week for everyone in the TRA community, hasn’t it? We were preparing for a shorter week with students for parent-teacher conferences, but I sure never expected to have a 3-day break in the middle of the week thanks to the ice! I hope everyone has managed to keep power, stay warm and cozy inside and not have to brave the sketchy road conditions out there.

Before the unexpected break, our middle school students with the help of Mrs, Hannah Maddux, have organized a new Math club in the middle school grades! They have already had one meeting, and brainstormed many great ideas for how to get people at TRA excited about math. One of their first activities was to set up data collection stations polling out students in middle and high school about who their favorite rapper was. They will then compile the responses and aggregate them into a graphic representation to report back to everyone. Great work Math club!

Our middle school basketball teams kick off their end of season tournaments this weekend, and they have all been working so hard down the final stretch of their season. We want to wish all of our boys and girls middle school teams the best of luck for safe competition and hopefully some big wins!

Finally, we will be working with families that had conferences scheduled this Wednesday, to get them rescheduled with their respective teachers if they have not already done so. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through getting those taken care of.

Lower School Review

Lots of fun extra curricular events are happening in the lower school! We are winding up a fun, competitive “Little Rebel” basketball season I know the boys and girls had so much fun while learning the sport of basketball. Many thanks to the parents who coached the teams and to Coach Hood for getting this organized for us!

Our elementary cheerleaders have loved getting in on the Little Rebel action as well and even had the chance to cheer at the homecoming pep rally. They LOVED it!!! A big thanks to Mrs. Juliana Baker for coaching these girls this year!

PTO has two exciting event on the calendar for the next couple of weekends Our annual daddy / daughter dance is FRIDAY, February 10 It will take place in the multi purpose room from 6:308:30. The DJ is booked and I know these girls will love dancing the night away with dad and friends. I can’t wait to see all the girls dressed up and having fun! The dance is for girls in grades PreK-2 through 5th grade.

PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME IN ALL JACKETS, SWEATERS AND PULLOVERS. WE HAVE LOTS OF LOST AND FOUND ITEMS THAT DO NOT HAVE A NAME IN THEM. ALSO REMEMBER THAT HOODIES ARE ALLOWED ONLY ON FRIDAYS. THE ONLY SWEATSHIRTS AND 1/4 ZIPS ALLOWED FOR DAILY WEAR ARE THE ONES WITH THE TR LOGO ONLY ON THE UPPER LEFT CHEST.
