Volunteer Captain Training Southern University System Foundation

MISSION The Southern University System Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation established to secure financial support for each of the five campuses of the Southern University System. The Foundation is a voluntary institute of business and professional leaders, proudly incorporated to provide broader educational services to our students, encourage research among our faculty, and advance the university's role in helping to build an increasingly functional Louisiana.

THE CAMPAIGN The Million Dollar March is a viral and direct mail fundraising campaign that endeavors to encourage alumni and friends to join together and secure philanthropic contributions for the campuses and departments of the Southern University A&M College System.

MDM HISTORY Southern University System Foundation board member, James E. Brown, Sr. came up with the concept of the Million Dollar March. A concept that was developed in a Houston coffee house is now in its eight year. The Million Dollar March has engaged hundreds of alumni worldwide and raised more than $12.5 million dollars in 2020, alone.

By registering to be a Southern University Give Day MDM Captain, you make an investment in your school, college, and university system, and the exceptional programs offered to our students. You'll be able to drive support from your personal networks to areas of greatest importance to you. Your goal and objective is promote Southern University on and before SU Give Day. The mission is to utilize to your social media network to raise funds from donors and to bring awareness and increase knowledge regarding the Southern University.
