The Dementia Dictionary is the worlds first completely free to use resource helpin language of dementia and communicate more effectively with people living with
The Dementia Dictionary contains thousands of definitions for a wide range of behaviours, actions, and vocalisations, helping people to understand what is being communicated through these actions, as well as some useful pointers and advice for how to respond to these situations based on what is being communicated.
The Dementia Dictionary is enabling people around the world to better connect with people who previously had been unable to do so. Our ultimate aim is that this resource will stop all of the labelling that tends to happen with people living with dementia, labels such as ‘challenging’ and ‘aggressive’, as people will now be able to understand that these behaviours are actually forms of communication

Home Care - Lone Working and Roles in Data Protection

Lone Working - In social care many roles call for staff to work in isolation, whether within the service or in the community.
This places additional responsibilities and challenges on those staff members. This session explores some of those issues particularly in relation to how to assess the potential areas of risk and mitigate against them
We will place an emphasis on the requirements for keeping staff safe and keeping data secure
Roles in Data Protection - This session explores the formal and informal roles associated with Data Protection.
What are the requirements? Who should fulfil these roles? What do the roles entail and potential implications for those in the role?
Roles included will be Data Protection Officer, Senior Information Risk Officer, Caldicott Guardian, Information Governance Lead as well as general duties for all staff
