Chad Johnson Jr.

Inspired by his father’s outlandish fashion sense, Chad Johnson Jr. isn’t afraid to mix different patterns and materials. For him, it’s about being able to express himself with colors and drip.

What are you wearing right now, just describe your outfit and everything.

“I’m wearing a Mike Amiri 2022 Fall Collection and I have a White Sox hat with a 1901-1995 patch, Playboy glasses and all black Air Force 1’s.”

What inspired your fashion?

“My father is really with his fashion, he just wears a bunch of nonsense and it usually looks right. I just tried to follow after him but I never told anytone that other than you, this is the first time.”

How do you view your style on the field versus off the field?

“I’ve always tried to look good, so I could feel good. I’ve always lived by that. If I look good, I’ll play good and I’ll feel good, so on the football field it really matters, you have to feel good to play good and I stand by it.”

What determines what you wear every day like at home or outside of your sport and everything like how do you decide what to wear everyday?

“Weather, you know we live in Arizona, it’s pretty tough. But, probably the weather or where I’m going, I don’t really go anywhere. I like to game, stay in the house but if I do go somewhere I try to do something pretty extracurricular.”

Going back to like your dad and his fashion, what really inspired you about like what he wore, like think back to your childhood, what are some things he wore that inspired you?

“I’ll have to show you, he would wear some pretty baggy clothes, like we’re two skinny guys, and we like to wear baggy clothes, like we buy our stuff in XL all the time, that’s just our choice of style. What’s one outfit I can think of? I can send you pictures…”

What is your favorite brand? “Nike, probably.”

And you go to an Adidas school. Tell me about that.

“Yeah, I don’t know, man. It was like my final two were between USC, Oregon and Arizona State. And you know, you go to Oregon, they have all the Nike stuff and it’s pretty hard to choose over a school when they have the gear and facilities but it was more about coaching. So like that not that I don’t really care about the brand, but I’m still going to wear whatever I want to wear outside of school.”

What is your favorite piece of clothing that can be anything like shoes, jackets, shirts, pants, hats or glasses.

“Well, I’m a shoe fanatic. So it’s probably my Travis Scott Phantoms. My all black ones, they go with everything. I wouldn’t say they’re the most comfortable shoes but they go with everything. Probably release of the year.”

And who is your favorite designer?

“Good one, really good one. Jerry Lorenzo, he’s pretty nice. Or Mike Amiri right? They’re both pretty good. Or John Geiger. There’s a lot. They’re pretty crazy.”
