Center is a great place to experience Kentucky hospitality and to see and buy the creative works of Kentucky’s artists.

OLD TOWN Berea is known as

Kentucky’s Folk Arts & Crafts Capital. Old Town has a wide selection of galleries, shops, and working artist studios to explore. On some evenings, you’ll hear Bluegrass music as you stroll thru Old Town with our regular “jammin on the porch”.

LOG HOUSE CRAFT GALLERY Open since 1917,

the Log House Craft Gallery has over 500 artisans from Appalachia and beyond.

Shop our extensive selection of handmade kitchen wares— one of the largest in the country.

Directly behind the Log House Craft Gallery is an eclectic group of stores including a bookstore, an Appalachian merchantile and an outdoor recreation and equipment rental store.

This Gallery is home to more than 3000 Doris Ulmann photographs, primarily of the Appalachian region.

Explore the life and words of Berea’s own bell hooks. bell hooks CENTER

of trails traversing through the Berea College Forest. There is a variety of difficulty levels and beautiful scenic views.

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Boone Tavern, Brushy Fork offers 5 miles of trails for all fitness levels.

Private showings of various special collections in the Hutchins Library including the St. John’s Bible, Bibles from before 1600, historic cookbooks, and the largest collection of books about President Lincoln in the country.

Make the Boone Tavern your home base while you explore all that Berea has to offer.

Berea Kentucky is home to the historic Boone Tavern Hotel.

Owned by Berea College, this hotel opened in 1909 and is on the national register of historic hotels.

Enjoy the pinnacle of southern hospitality and charm in this amazing hotel. You’ll appreciate that each room in the hotel is furnished with hand-crafted furniture from Berea College students.
