Sustainable Surf Verified – The ECOBOARD PROJECT™ provides the surf industry with the first independent 3rd party consumer facing “Eco-Label” for surfboards. It is designed to help individuals choose a high-performance, sustainable surfboard made with the latest advancements in green chemistry and renewable materials. The ECOBOARD dramatically reduce the surfboard’s environmental and toxic impact.

Bio Based Resin – Surftech is innovating and producing environmentally friendlier boards derived from bio based resins (GreenPoxy®), purposed molded EPS cores and recyclable alternative materials to reduce the impact on the environment. We also build boards that last longer, fewer broken boards = less waste. We are committed surfers that are focused on keeping our oceans and planet clean.

Gerry Lopez grew up in the extraordinary place that was Hawaii in the 1950s and 1960s. He played a part in the shortboard revolution of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He experienced the awe, fear and ultimate satisfaction of finding the tube in the early days at the Pipeline. He traveled for surf throughout the world: to the original surf camp at G-Land, the exotic islands off Sumatra and especially to the magic island of Bali, Indonesia - before it became a popular surf destination. He experienced the beginnings of windsurfing on Maui, the early years of snowboarding and tow-in surfing at Jaws.

Fast forward to today and Gerry is shaping some truly unique boards that keeps his surfing journey moving forward. This collection of boards represents the quiver that he takes around the world to surf the ultimate breaks.

The Squirty / Fusion-Poly is a balance between paddling and maneuverability, the Yin and Yang of surfboard design. Can't do much surfing if you're not catching the waves. But, at the same time, you still want to rip when you are up and riding. Low entry rocker with a slightly rolled bottom going into a single concave and finishing to a double concave with a user friendly tail lift, make Squirty loose and fast.

The River-Boat / Softop Custom-Performance addresses the future of surfing which is going to have more and more to do with alternative waves like river waves, boat wakes, and wave pools. When the ocean isn't an option, these waves will do very well indeed. It is possible to build a surfboard for any kind of wave and the River-Boat comes from 20+ years of riding waves behind boats and on rivers. Shorter and thinner because little or no paddling is involved, the two sizes should accommodate all with the exception of the extra-largest surfers. Depending on your wave, the fin options are numerous...twinnie, thruster, quad or even asym-1 fin toeside, 2 fins heelside. Surf is wherever you can find it...!

The Modern 2.5 / Fusion Dual-Core utilizes a fusion of EPS and PU foams to bring you the perfect balance of float, response, and performance. The Modern 2.5 is an updated version of the Modern 2 with more volume in the nose, more responsive rounded pin tail, and a five-fin setup for fine tuned fin options. When Filipe is training for the world tour, you can find him ripping the Modern 2.5 because it works great in small to head high waves. Most importantly for Filipe, the Dual-Core has engineered swing weight for quick snaps and easier rotations in the air.

The Modern 2.5 / Fusion-E2 is the latest upgrade of the original Modern 2. This design has the same rocker and thickness distribution as the Modern 2. The updated outline features a wing pin tail, carver, and a double-concave bonzer bottom above the fins. The Modern 2.5 was designed to be ridden as a thruster or quad. The modifications were to keep the excellent paddling features and speed of the Modern 2 in small to medium conditions and to add more drive and carving ability.

The Modern 2 / Fusion-Poly was designed to be a cross breed between the famous MR Twin of the 80’s and the highGHOST CARBON performance thrusters of today. Filipe wanted a board for training in small mushy conditions and he asked for something different than what he rides on the tour. The Modern 2 has incredible speed and drive due to the combination of concave and rail shape and is now offered in that classic tinted PU look.
