SURFTECH’S GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES

Sustainable Surf Verified – The ECOBOARD Project provides the SUP industry with the first, independent 3rd party, consumer facing “eco-label” for paddleboards. It is designed to help individuals choose a high-performance sustainable surfboard made with the latest advancements in green chemistry and renewable materials. The ECOBOARD’s dramatically reduce the paddleboard’s environmental and toxic impact.

Surftech is proud to announce that we have partnered with Sustainable Surf’s ECOBOARD Project.

Bio Based Resin – Surftech is innovating and producing environmentally friendlier

boards derived from bio based resins (GreenPoxy®), purposed molded EPS cores and recyclable alternative materials to reduce the impact on the environment. We also build boards that last longer, fewer broken boards = less waste. We are committed paddlers that are focused on keeping our oceans and waterways clean.

90% of all Surftech boards are built with Sicomin’s GreenPoxy Bio® Resin.

BLOOM FOAM harvests algae from freshwater sources at high risk of algal blooms.

Bloom harvesting process helps freshwater ecosystems by removing excess algae and recirculating fresh water back into the habitat. Select models feature the Bloom Foam DeckPads containing 20% algae biomass, which helps offset the use of nonrenewable petrochemical ingredients.

Select models utilize the Bloom algae based foam DeckPads which offsets the use of non-renewable petrochemical ingredients and helps to remove harmful algae from fresh water supplies.

2019 BOARD MODELS

The 2019 All-Around models are best suited for short to mid-range paddling around the lake, lagoon, or beach and is a great style of board that the entire family can enjoy. Surftech’s All-Around boards can be used for short distance touring, yoga, fishing, water transportation just to name a few purposes, but are primarily intended for recreation.

BOARD TECHNOLOGIES The Tuflite Ghost Carbon construction process begins with a water-resistant fused-cell EPS foam “core”. Every EPS core is purpose built to the individual board size and then is hand finished to bring out every detail. The Ghost Carbon boards are laminated with 100% carbon fiber, vacuum bagged to reduce weight and to seal the board to perfection. The Ghost Carbon consist of a flat-finish paint and then is precision sanded to reduce weight and enhance the performance.

Every Pro-Elite board is made using a water-resistant fused-cell EPS foam “core”, which is the lightest, most durable core on the market. Tight bonds are created between the fused cells to create a water-resistant core that can withstand dents and dings. The core is then pressuremolded using high-quality carbon and fiberglass with a PVC reinforced standing area resulting in a light, strong, rigid board.

The TEKefx boards start with a water-resistant fused-cell foam “core” making them strong and durable. TEKefx boards are then wrapped with a thin layer fiberglass and Bamboo veneer, which is vacuum bagged and bonded to the core using high-quality fiberglass and epoxy resin.

TEKefx boards are durable, lightweight and have a high-gloss transparent finish to them to show the bamboo and vibrant colors.

The Tuflite C-Tech construction starts with a water-resistant fused-cell foam “core” which makes them extra strong and durable. The Tuflite C-Tech is then wrapped with a few layers of fiberglass and is thermal-molded and bonded to the core using high-quality epoxy resin. For additional strength where it counts, a natural wood standing area is installed for reinforcement. The Tuflite C-Tech construction is extremely durable and has a flat finish which makes them easy for repair.
