JOE BARK – Surftech’s most premier shaper was born and raised in Los Angeles, a place teeming with surf and ocean history. Joe took his cues from surfing’s “Greatest Generation” of board-builders, paddlers, shapers and has been crafting some of the finest paddleboards, the most versatile surfboards, and the most cutting edge prone boards for decades since.
SURFTECH S GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
Sustainable Surf Verified – The ECOBOARD Project provides the SUP industry with the first, independent 3rd party, consumer facing “eco-label” for paddleboards. It is designed to help individuals choose a high-performance sustainable surfboard made with the latest advancements in green chemistry and renewable materials. The ECOBOARD’s dramatically reduce the paddleboard’s environmental and toxic impact. Surftech is proud to announce that we have partnered with Sustainable Surf’s ECOBOARD Project.
Bio Based Resin – Surftech is innovating and producing environmentally friendlier boards derived from bio based resins (GreenPoxy®), purposed molded EPS cores and recyclable alternative materials to reduce the impact on the environment. We also build boards that last longer, fewer broken boards = less waste. We are committed paddlers that are focused on keeping our oceans and waterways clean. 90% of all Surftech boards are built with Sicomin’s GreenPoxy Bio® Resin.

BLOOM harvests algae from freshwater sources at high risk of algal blooms. Bloom harvesting process helps freshwater ecosystems by removing excess algae and recirculating fresh water back into the habitat. Select DeckPads featuring Bloom foam contains 20% algae biomass, which helps offset the use of non-renewable petrochemical ingredients. Select models utilize the Bloom algae based foam DeckPads which offsets the use of non-renewable petrochemical ingredients and helps to remove harmful algae from fresh water supplies.

Since 1989 Surftech has pioneered the use of advanced composites in the manufacturing of surfboards and paddleboards. Known for quality, consistency, and durability, Surftech has always paired the best SUP designs with our cutting-edge technologies.
The Tuflite Ghost Carbon construction process begins with our proprietary water-resistant fused-cell foam “core”. Every EPS core is purpose built to the individual board size and then is hand finished to bring out every detail. The Ghost Carbon boards are laminated with 100% carbon fiber, vacuum bagged to reduce weight and to seal the board to perfection. The Ghost Carbon consist of a flat-finish paint and then is precision sanded to reduce weight and enhance the performance.
Every Pro-Elite board is made using Surftech’s proprietary water-resistant fused-cell foam “core”, which is the lightest, most durable core on the market. Tight bonds are created between the fused cells to create a water-resistant core that can withstand dents and dings. The core is then pressure-molded using high-quality carbon and fiberglass with a PVC reinforced standing area resulting in a light, strong, rigid board.
The TEKefx boards start with Surftech’s proprietary water-resistant fused-cell foam “core” making them strong and durable. TEKefx boards are then wrapped with a thin layer fiberglass and Bamboo veneer, which is thermal-molded and bonded to the core using high-quality fiberglass and epoxy resin. TEKefx boards are durable, lightweight and have a high-gloss transparent finish to them to show the bamboo and vibrant colors.
The CoreTech construction starts with our proprietary water-resistant fused-cell foam “core” which makes them extra strong and durable. CoreTech’s are then wrapped with a layer of Divinycell material, which is thermal-molded and bonded to the core using highquality fiberglass and epoxy. For additional strength where it counts, a natural wood standing area is installed for reinforcement. The CoreTech construction is extremely durable and has a flat finish which makes them easy for repair.
BT BOARD TECHNOLOGIES Surftech’s Utility Armor construction consists of an EPS core, high-quality grade fiberglass, epoxy resin, plus reinforced rails and standing area. Then the board receives an ABS/ PC plastic heat-molded shell for an extremely durable layer of armor. The Utility Armor shell protects against drops, hacks, and is the ideal construction for rental facilities or first-time board owners.
Softops are built with a water-resistant fused-cell core, epoxy resin, fiberglass, and a wood reinforced standing area. The full soft foam deck provides built-in traction creating a comfortable standing area, while the slick bottom ensures good glide. Boards built in this construction are soft, safe, versatile and easy to ride - perfect for newbie paddlers or rental facilities looking for a durable safe board.
The Air Travel Inflatables are made of high-quality puncture-resistance PVC Drop Stitch material to create a strong, rigid SUP that can go anywhere and stores easily. The double sidewall and dual-layer deck / bottom make Surftech Inflatables the most durable construction on the market. Surftech Inflatables come with dual-action hand pump to transform from duffel bag sized to a full-sized SUP in just minutes. 15-18psi.

TOURING MODELS The 2018 lineup of Touring boards feature unique shapes that will take all paddlers at any level on a journey of a lifetime. Touring boards can be used for multiple purposes but are primarily intended for long distance paddling and expeditions. Generally, Touring boards are built to sustain added weight that comes with hauling gear and have multiple attachment points on the board to hold down and secure that gear.
