As the business expanded, their focus was on ease of installation. This goal led to the invention of the shingle panel system. Today, their Craftsman Shingle Panel can be installed 10x faster than individual shingles and still use 100% vertical grain cedar fully laminated to exterior grade backer in plywood presses.
In addition to the shingle panel system, Shakertown introduced the Dolly Varden T&G product in 2015. This engineered cedar T&G has a clear, 100% vertical grain cedar face that is 1/8" thick. The tongue is twice as strong as solid cedar, so there is no splitting when pneumatically nailing. As innovation continues, Shakertown continues to be on the forefront
In the early 1950's the company moved to Winlock, WA to be closer to the cedar resources
Fast forward to 1992, Shakertown was purchased by The Clarke Group of Mission BC.
