Chief Of Police
John Healy Sworn In
On Feb. 10, a swearing-in ceremony was held for Chief of Police John Healy in the Commission Chambers. A Town resident for several years, Chief Healy’s popularity was in full display as Surfside’s Town Commission, family members, police staff, residents and dozens of representatives from the law enforcement community came out to support the standing-room-only occasion.

Chief Healy has over 32 years of law enforcement and leadership experience. He first joined the Surfside Police Department in August 2018 as a Police Lieutenant over Support Operations prior to being promoted to Administrative Captain in Oct. 2020 and served as Interim Chief of Police in late 2021 and 2022.
Before joining the Surfside family, Healy had a 25-year career with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and was previously a 22-year Veteran of the United States Air Force. Congratulations, Chief!
