A SNIPPET FROM SUPPLY
FROM THE FOUNDER xx
Hi, West 6th Readers!
Texas has finally decided to participate in fall, and the cooler temperatures came just in time. October was packed at SUPPLY, including a trip to Round Top. We came home inspired by antiques, lived-in interiors, and rich colors. This month, we’re taking a trip through time with Block Shop’s newest collection, a love letter to florals spanning the 1600s to the 1980s. These Walls invites us into The Parlour, a collection inspired by the room once reserved for a home’s finest plants and textiles. Closer to home, we’re unveiling Part II of Sarah Gordon’s exclusive Garden Fresco collection. Speaking of flowers, subtlety has officially left the building. Kristy Stafford’s latest psychedelic florals and Thatcher’s Emilie pattern bring all the groovy goodness. We’ve also put together a moody fall mood board and refreshed our own showroom with new wallpaper throughout. Here’s to cooler days, bolder patterns, and a little more flower power. Happy October.

INTRODUCING THE FIRST BOTANICAL COLLECTION FROM
BLOCK SHOP Block Shop is a Los Angeles textile studio founded in 2013 by sisters Hopie and Lily Stockman. Each pattern starts as one of their drawings, which master printers in Jaipur carve into wooden blocks and print by hand. Their wallpapers use the same drawings, so a pattern can run from the upholstery to the walls. This fall, the studio released its fifth fabric collection. Block Shop’s fifth collection draws on botanical prints from four centuries. Its sources include a 1932 Duncan Grant textile, a 1968 Chicago wallpaper, an early 19th-century Pennsylvania fraktur, an ’80s Collier & Campbell floral, and a Kantha quilt from Jaipur. Each print is hand printed in Jaipur on a linen-cotton blend. The palette runs from Flower Fields’ tomato red and bubblegum pink on black to periwinkle Beanstalk on brick red, golden yellow Carnations, and the quieter Clematis in Nut Brown and Sage. WEST 6TH
For designers, the appeal is in the details. Each wallpaper is translated directly from the hand-printed fabric, so the slight irregularities of the carved blocks show up on the wall as well as on the upholstery. Every print also comes with a provenance worth sharing with a client, whether that’s a Bloomsbury painter’s grapes or a Pennsylvania schoolmaster’s folk drawing. The range of scale, from Flower Fields’ oversized blooms to the small repeat of Clematis, lets a single collection cover an entire room. 4

“Right now, we need joy and handmade beauty. We need color. Color has the emotional power to uplift a space and make you feel something, and as an artist, I really believe in its emotional power. So we approached our new line of fabrics and wallpapers with that sense of joy, passion for color, and longtime love of botanicals. - HOPIE STOCKMAN

“I love painterly, whimsical florals that don’t take themselves too seriously but still pack a serious color punch. Sarah Gordon delivers just that, with plenty of personality and a playful twist.“

GARDEN FRESCO PART II
Sarah Gordon
This fall, Sarah Gordon returns to the walled garden with three new patterns for Garden Fresco, her exclusive collection with SUPPLY. Peacock Iris, Sweet Climber, and Soft Leaves bring moodier, earthy palettes to the collection, adding a warmer, more grounded side to the original designs. Peacock Iris is a repeating iris emblem inspired by Arts & Crafts textiles. Sweet Climber is a delicate botanical based on the small plants that trail across garden walls. Soft Leaves turns climbing foliage into a painterly, softly geometric repeat. In colors from rust and ochre to teal and green, the new patterns sit naturally alongside the original five. 10

PARLOUR These Walls
These Walls has launched Parlour, its eighth collection — and founder Sara Hingle’s most personal to date. Rooted in her love of indoor plants and the Victorian “good room,” the five hand-created designs each carry their own story: botanical stem prints, abstract dot patterns, tropical foliage, and the Parlour Palm that gives the collection its name. Shot on flash by interiors photographer Jessica Bellef, the campaign pairs that warmth with the looser energy of the 60s and 70s — familiar, lived-in, and a little cinematic. Sara calls it her favorite collection since founding the brand in 2015: “It is a true reflection of my personal tastes,” she said. 18
