Red Hills Desert Garden - located in Pioneer Park this area is perfect for both a short outing or for hours of exploring. There are slot canyons, a beautiful view of St. George, and gorgeous landscaping. It is completely transformed with lights and decorations during holidays like Christmas and Halloween, a must-see. Location: 375 Red Hills Parkway

Town Square Park - A hot spot in summer with a shallow lazy river and lots of shade. This park is excellent for all ages, along with Brigham Young’s winter home, restaurants, and antique stores that are all within walking distance. Movies and concerts are often held there as well. Location: 50S Main Street, St George

Tuacahn Saturday Market - On Saturdays Tuacahn has more to offer than just fantastic shows. The street market is such a fun way to site see and shop. When I went, there was entertainment, crafts, and local artwork. Also, a taco booth they had made my shopping that much better. Location: 1100 Tuacahn Drive, Ivins

Ashcroft Observatory - Open since 1970, the observatory hosts free public star parties, and is a great place to gather on a clear Monday night. Always check their Facebook to make sure they will be open. Location: Hilltop south of the SUU Farm on Westview Dr- 745 Hillcrest Dr, Cedar City

Bloomington Petroglyph Park - What a way to experience remnants of past cultures! This 1/2 acre rustic park highlights large boulders with petroglyphs. The carved images left behind on the rocks tell the stories of ancient peoples. Many of these carved images are recognizable as human and animal forms and perhaps early trail maps. Location: 1460 W.
