Q: Vishal & Sheykhar’s music now reaches multiple generations of listeners. Are you seeing younger fans connect with the songs differently than people who grew up with them when they first came out?
A: Absolutely. What’s fascinating is that younger fans often discover songs through streaming, reels, or playlists rather than the films themselves. They connect with the music in their own way. Meanwhile, people who grew up with the songs have memories attached to them. Seeing both generations sing the same song together is incredibly special because it shows that music can travel far beyond its original moment.
Q: When you hear thousands of people singing your songs back to you outside India, especially in North America, what goes through your mind?
A: Gratitude, first and foremost. It’s a reminder that music doesn’t recognize borders. Many people in the audience have carried these songs with them through different countries, different phases of life, and different generations. When thousands of voices come together, it’s a powerful reminder of how deeply music can connect people.
Q: After more than 25 years, what does a Vishal & Sheykhar concert mean to you today?
A: Today, it feels like a celebration of a shared journey. The songs belong as much to the audience as they do to us.
Every concert is an opportunity to reconnect with fans who have supported our music for years and to welcome new listeners into that experience. That connection is what keeps it exciting after all this time.
Q: Fans come expecting the greatest hits, but your catalog is so vast. How do you balance nostalgia with bringing newer music and fresh moments into the show?
A: The hits are essential because people have emotional relationships with them. At the same time, we never want the experience to feel predictable. We constantly rethink arrangements, transitions, visuals, and the flow of the show. The goal is to honor the songs people love while making them feel fresh and exciting in a live setting.
Q: When you take a studio song to the stage with a full live band and large-scale production, what usually changes to make it work in a live concert setting?
A: Energy becomes the priority. In the studio, a song can be very detailed and intimate. On stage, it needs to connect instantly with thousands of people. We often expand sections, create musical moments that encourage audience participation, and give the musicians room to bring their own energy. The song evolves into something larger than the recording.
Q: Is there a song in your catalog that surprised you by becoming such a long-lasting crowd favorite in concert?
A: There have been quite a few. Sometimes the songs you expect to be huge live moments are exactly that, and sometimes a song takes on a life of its own over the years. What surprises us most is when songs continue to find new
audiences decades after they were released. That longevity is something you can never predict.
Q: You’re returning to the U.S. in 2026 with additional cities following last year’s sold-out run. How does performing in a new city change the energy or approach of the show?
A: Every city has its own personality. The audience might share a common love for the music, but the energy in the room is always unique. We pay attention to that and feed off it. The core of the show remains the same, but every concert develops its own character because the audience shapes the experience.
Q: Your catalog has become part of weddings, parties, playlists, films, and family memories for so many South Asian fans. Do fans ever share stories with you that change the way you think about a song?
A: All the time. Fans tell us about songs that played at weddings, helped them through difficult periods, reminded them of loved ones, or connected them to home while living abroad. Those stories are incredibly moving because they remind us that once music is released, it becomes part of people’s lives in ways we could never imagine while creating it.
Q: North American audiences bring together fans who grew up with your music in India, fans raised in the diaspora, and younger listeners discovering the songs in new ways. What feels special about performing for that kind of crowd?
A: It’s one of the most unique experiences as performers. You can look out into the audience and see multiple generations singing together. Some people remember the songs from when they were
first released, while others are hearing them through a completely different lens. That diversity creates an incredible atmosphere and reinforces the idea that great music can connect people across time and place.
Q: If someone wanted to understand the evolution of Bollywood music through Vishal & Sheykhar’s work, which songs would you point them to and why?
A: We’d probably point them to songs from different eras because each represents a moment in our creative journey. From energetic anthems and romantic ballads to contemporary pop-influenced tracks and large-scale cinematic songs, the catalog reflects the evolution of Bollywood music. More than any individual song, it’s the variety that tells the story.
Q: For fans coming to “The Superhit Tour” in 2026, what do you hope they feel when they leave the concert?
A: We hope they leave feeling uplifted, energized, and connected. We want them to relive memories, create new ones, and experience the joy of singing together with thousands of people. If they walk away with a smile, a few unforgettable moments, and the feeling that they were part of something special, then we’ve done our job.

Picnicking is permitted on the sandy beach in designated areas between Sherman and Custer Streets as well as within Charnow Park at Garfield Street, Keating Park at Magnolia Terrace, and Harry Berry Park at Azalea Terrace.
To help keep Hollywood Beach beautiful, visitors are reminded to bring reusable items and clean up after themselves at the end of the day. Please do not overfill trash receptacles. As a reminder, Hollywood Beach is plastic and foam-free. Single-use plastics, foam containers, plastic bags, bottles and utensils are prohibited on Hollywood Beach, at Cityoperated parks and other City facilities.
It is Prime Nesting Season for several protected species of Sea Turtles. Turtle Nesting Activity is normal and should not be considered an emergency. If you plan to stake out a spot on the sand to watch the fireworks, please avoid the nests and dunes and remember the nesting habits of Sea Turtles can be impacted by light sources, including flashlights. If you do encounter a Sea Turtle or Sea Turtle Nest, do not disturb it. Knowingly interfering with a Sea Turtle Nest could result in civil or even criminal penalties and fines.
The Hollywood Police Marine Unit will be on enhanced patrol. All boaters are advised to travel at safe speeds and to watch for Threatened or Endangered Species including Manatees and Sea Turtles. Any collisions with or injuries to Sea Turtles, Manatees or other Protected Species must be reported to Sea Turtle Emergency Line (24 hours) at: (954) 3280580. And the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at: 1 (888) 404FWCC. Call: 1 (888) 404-3922. Spectator boats are not allowed to anchor on or above sea grass, hard bottom or coral reef structures and could face fines or criminal penalties for doing so. This is a condition of the event permit from the U.S. Coast Guard. Boaters also must remain at least 1,400 feet from the fireworks barge. The Hollywood Police Department Marine Unit will be on hand to assure boaters follow these regulations. Public restrooms are located at the Nebraska Street Parking Garage and at Tyler, Fillmore, Johnson, Garfield, Taft, and Missouri Streets on the Broadwalk for your convenience.
TRAFFIC and PARKING INFORMATION
Due to the anticipated heavy traffic and no public shuttle service, access to the barrier island will be limited. The Hollywood Police Department will be monitoring parking and beach capacity in
RIDESHARE Uber and Lyft drivers may drop off and pick up passengers at the designated ride-share spot at A1A and Johnson Street and at North Beach Park. Riders should expect heavy traffic delays.
SUN SHUTTLE
The Hollywood Sun Shuttle, operated by Circuit is an environmentally friendly, electric public transportation option that transports riders through service areas citywide. An App requested ride is $2.00 per person per ride. Riders are required to pay the fare onboard using a secure QR code to process payment.
The Sun Shuttle will be operating on extended service hours on July 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Drivers will drop/ pickup passengers at designated ride share locations on Hollywood Beach. threaten small businesses. Such practices allegedly contribute to pharmacy closures and “pharmacy deserts,” leaving families and seniors with fewer options and higher costs.
The Civil Investigative Demand requires thousands of documents and sworn testimony on reimbursement rates, pharmacy contracts, patient steering, audits, rebates, differential treatment of own versus independent stores, and expansion plans. Compliance is required by Tuesday, July 28th, 2026.

Free Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
Screenings To Broward County Residents
PAD is a narrowing of the arteries that reduces blood flow to the limbs and affects an estimated 10 to 12 million U.S. adults over age 40.
Memorial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Memorial Healthcare System, is providing new grant funding to support FREE Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) screenings across Broward County aimed at driving earlier diagnosis and reducing the risk of amputation for undiagnosed residents.
Within the Memorial Healthcare System, providers have observed an alarming rise in advanced Diabetic foot wounds, amputations and undiagnosed or poorly controlled Hypertension, all of which early vascular screening is designed to prevent.
According to the American Heart Association, PAD is a narrowing of the arteries that reduces blood flow to the limbs and affects an estimated 10 to 12 million U.S. adults over age 40. It is a leading cause of amputation, particularly among patients with Diabetes and historically underserved populations. Women also remain significantly underrepresented in vascular research and clinical trials, contributing to gaps in diagnosis, treatment and preventive care.
Directed by Sonya Natalie Tuerff, M.D., Medical Director of Vascular Surgery at Memorial Hospital West and Memorial Hospital Miramar through the Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute, the initiative responds to documented disparities in cardiovascular outcomes across Broward County, particularly among minority residents, lower-income communities and women.
The grant will bring free education, early detection and preventive vascular care directly into community settings where residents already gather, including senior centers, churches, women’s health centers and local primary care offices.

Can The Principles Of 1776 Survive The American Police State?
This is a year of strange anniversaries.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, a band of revolutionaries declared their independence from a king.
America’s founders rejected concentrated power. They denounced standing armies. They distrusted government secrecy. They risked their lives to escape a ruler who could tax without consent, wage war without accountability, and govern without meaningful restraint.
Twenty-five years ago, after the attacks of September 11, 2001, America embarked on a very different journey.
The federal government claimed extraordinary emergency powers. Surveillance expanded. Wars multiplied. Executive authority grew. Constitutional safeguards were weakened in the name of secu-
One anniversary marked a revolt against empire. The other marked the normalization of it.
Now, as America prepares to celebrate 250 years of independence, we are confronted with a bitter irony: the republic born in rebellion against empire has become an empire in everything but name.
Worse, the U.S. government is violating the very principles that justified the American Revolution.
Graft, grift and corruption. Endless wars. Profiteering. Trillions squandered abroad while the nation sinks deeper into debt at home.
A government that governs increasingly by executive order and emergency decree. A government that wastes taxpayer money with impunity, rewards political loyalty over constitutional fidelity, installs loyalists in positions meant to serve the public, dismantles safeguards against corruption, shields insiders from scrutiny, and treats accountability as an inconvenience.
National states of emergency that never seem to end. Efforts to nullify constitutional guarantees such as birthright citizenship. Expanded death penalty powers. A growing willingness to bypass Congress, sidestep constitutional restraints and rule by fiat.
Surveillance programs that track where we go, what we buy, who we know, what we say and what we believe. Fusion centers, facial recognition, license plate readers, AI-assisted monitoring, financial tracking, intelligence-sharing agreements and a sprawling security apparatus that treats privacy as a loophole and dissent as a threat.
Military action undertaken without congressional authorization. National Guard deployments that blur the line between civilian government and military authority. The militarization of policing. Federal agents arresting people at courthouses. Protesters treated as security threats. Legal residents threatened with deportation because of their political speech and associations. Immigrants and asylum seekers swept up in raids, detained, deported or disappeared into a bureaucratic maze before courts can fully review the legality of what has been done.
Whistleblowers, journalists, activists and critics targeted for speaking truth to power. Expanding “extremist” classifications that increasingly encompass lawful speech, political dissent and ideological opposition rather than criminal conduct. This is not freedom.
This is the architecture of a police state.
The American Revolution was not fought over minor policy disagreements. It was fought over the danger of unaccountable power. The colonists objected to a king who could deploy troops, impose taxes, conduct searches, punish dissent and wage war without meaningful consent of the governed.
The Declaration of Independence was not merely a list of grievances.
It was an indictment.
The founders understood that power is inherently expansive. Given enough time, every government seeks more authority, more secrecy and more control.
That is why they created a constitutional system in which power was divided. The branches were intended to restrain one another. No person was to be trusted with too much authority.
Yet history shows how quickly constitutional restraints weaken in times of fear.
John Adams signed the Alien and Sedition Acts and criminalized political dissent.
Abraham Lincoln suspended habeas corpus. Woodrow Wilson prosecuted anti-war activists.
Franklin Roosevelt ordered the internment of more than 120,000 Japanese Americans. Richard Nixon weaponized federal agencies against political opponents.
Each expansion of executive power was justified as necessary.
Each left constitutional scars.
Then came September 11, 2001.
In the months and years that followed, Congress passed the USA PATRIOT Act, vastly expanding government surveillance powers. The Department of Homeland Security was created. Military tribunals were revived. Warrantless surveillance became commonplace. Watchlists multiplied. Fusion centers spread across the country. Indefinite detention became normalized.
War abroad justified surveillance at home.
Terror threats justified government secrecy.
National crises justified executive emergency powers.
What began as a response to a terrorist attack gradually became a governing philosophy.
Twenty-five years later, the emergency state has become embedded in the architecture of government.
The result is a government that often functions by executive decree rather than representative self-government.
The presidency has evolved into something the framers would scarcely recognize.
What Donald Trump has done is expose the fatal flaw in the system Americans allowed to be built after 9/11: once government is handed the machinery of permanent emergency, all that remains is for the wrong person to seize the controls.
This is how tyranny rises and freedom falls.
The lesson is the same one the founders learned from bitter experience: power granted in the name of necessity rarely remains confined to necessity.
Every emergency becomes a precedent.
Every precedent becomes a power.
Every power becomes permanent.
The uncomfortable truth is that many of the abuses that sparked the American Revolution have returned, only this time they arrive wrapped in the language of national security, public safety, emergency management and administrative necessity. The faces have changed. The technology has changed. The rhetoric has changed.
The danger remains the same.
Which brings us back to this strange anniversary year.
The 250th anniversary of American independence should have been an opportunity to renew our commitment to limited government, constitutional accountability and the principle that no one is above the law.
Instead, the lesson of 9/11 is being repeated in a different form.
Twenty-five years ago, fear became the pretext for permanent emergency.
Today, patriotism is becoming the backdrop for presidential spectacle, military pageantry and the celebration of the very concentration of power the American Revolution was fought to resist.
Yet the founders did not launch a revolution so Americans could celebrate authoritarian power. They launched a revolution to remind future generations that power is dangerous, liberty is fragile and no ruler should ever be elevated above the Constitution.
For 250 years, Americans have treated the Declaration of Independence as the nation’s birth certificate.
What we have failed to recognize is that the Declaration of Independence was also a warning: freedom is fragile, power is relentless, and no generation remains free simply because a previous generation fought for liberty.
As America approaches its 250th anniversary, the most important question is not whether the nation survived. The real question, as I make clear in Battlefield America: The War on the American People and its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, is whether the principles of 1776 can survive the American police state.
