working - in a big way. Unemployment is NOT a Democratic, Republican or any other political party idea. It is all of us - and while the “hatred’ goes down in Washington

and everywhere else in this world - the reality is that more jobs are available at this time than the past three years combined. Citing statistics and

going back and forth is not the way this is all measured. What we know is more area companies are looking for employees. There are more job fairs being held through-

out south Florida, and that points to the economy at least having a heartbeat. Remember, if you worry about the economy in Minnesota or Oregon,

it’s not going to do you any good on Hollywood Boulevard, Sunny Isles Beach or along A1A. What happens locally is what it’s all about. “There are so many ways to look at the economy - at any time in history,” said Dr. Aileen Morales, who holds a PHD in Economic Development. “There has never been a defined across the board, everyone is rich feeling. While we are looking at many who are happy that their world is thriving, there are millions still living in poverty - not having the luxury to live paycheck to paycheck.” While many analysts will tell you their version of what’s going on, it does come down to the reality and there are a number of businesses in south Florida who have benefitted in a great way. Micky Dolenz Comes To Dania Beach

By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com If you are female in your 50’s, 60’s and 70’s – and maybe even in your early 80’s – the mention of Micky Dolenz still makes you think – what if…. A generation that was fun and all about falling in love with those musicians who etched a huge mark in your life. Dolenz and the Monkeys were just that. What they did as a group, and what he has done through the years, has indeed kept this memory very much alive. At the age of 74, Dolenz is still entertaining audiences and creating new fans wherever he goes – and one of those places that he is headed is the Casino @ Dania Beach on Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. “The Voice of the Monkees” – Dolenz will spend an intimate evening with fans, young and old, and one of those is Kala Prince of Hollywood. Prince, who grew up in Miami and moved to Hollywood had the chance to meet Dolenz back in 1980, and has never forgotten that encounter. As a private school student in Manhattan, Prince’s sixth grade music class performed at an event that was honoring the Monkees and after the event was over, he came over and shook hands with her and told her that she would be special someday. Each month, the City will be recognizing two local students from Hallandale High and Gulfstream Academy for the academic achievement and

good role model behavior. We are also very grateful for Hallandale Beach Public Library to provide a free book to our student winner. We also are very appreciative of the community and all that in the participated Women in Distress Clothing Drive. Commissioner Michelle Lazarow led the clothing drive, in collaboration with Human

Services Department and Women in Distress. Various items were collected, which included new and gently used clothing for adults and children. He began his show-business career in 1956 when he starred in a children's TV show called Circus Boy under the name Mickey Braddock. He played Corky, an orphaned water boy for the elephants in a one-ring circus. With the Monkees on the horizon, Dolenz originally had his own rock group called "Micky and the OneNighters" in the early- to mid-1960s with himself as lead singer. But it all changed in 1965. Dolenz was cast in the television sitcom The Monkees and became the drummer and a lead vocalist in the band created for the show. He was not actually a drummer and needed lessons even to be able to mime credibly, but eventually was taught how to play properly. The Monkees' debut single, "Last Train to Clarksville," featuring Micky on lead vocals, hit the charts on September 10, 1966 and rocketed

Marcia Moore-Davis is a 62-yearold grandmother of three and mom to four more. Her memories were growing up in Miami Beach and crying over bands like the Monkees with older sisters. Talk to kids of today and they have no time for those dreams of actually being with and seeing someone you admire – for whatever reason. It’s not hero-worship or anything bizarre. It’s clean admiration and being a little star struck. “We loved Micky,” Moore-Davis said. “We loved Micheal Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones. They

were funny, cute, clean cut and everything that was good and my sisters and I could not get enough.” These days, Dolenz is on the road and everyone knows it. From social media to his website (mickydolenz.com) and fan pages just about everywhere, knowing his schedule is not hard. The interest in this ﬁrst show at the Casino @ Dania Beach is that it kicks off a tour that starts on April 13 in Dania Beach and the next night, April 14 at the Southwest Events Center in Bonita Springs. Dolenz will then launch an ambitious schedule that will start on May 4 at the Haugh Performing Arts Center in Glendora, Ca. and then depart for a month-long tour of New Zealand and Australia in June.

Breakfast For Lunch/Dinner Is A Delicious Change

Omelettes Are Filling & Loaded With Meats, Cheeses and Vegetables

Chicken, steaks, seafood, pork and just about every other kind of entree pretty much takes up our dinner menus each and every week. But what about an alternative? When we think of omelettes, it’s usually a breakfast thing, and the thought of sitting down to a noon lunch - or a 6 p.m. dinner and having an omelette didn’t sound appealing - until now. Maybe some of these creations will change your mind.

MEAT LOVER’S OMELETTE • 1 teaspoon clarified butter • 1 ounce pork sausage • 1 ounce turkey bacon lardons • 2 large shrimp, roughly chopped • ¼ cup green onions, diced • 3 eggs • ¼ cup goat cheese • 1 teaspoon honey • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, • to taste • ¼ cup shredded cheese (or optional amount)

Bring a non-stick pan up to high heat, add clarified butter and swirl around pan until the sides are coated. Add shrimp and meats into heated pan, stir using the

handle or a spatula and let cook for approximately 2-3 minutes. Add half of the chopped green onions to the pan.

Whisk three eggs in a small bowl until the mixture is consistent and aerated. In another small bowl, mix the goat cheese with the honey. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the eggs into the pan over the meat and let sit. Season with salt and pepper. Once the sides of the omelette begin to rise, take a rubber spatula and pull in the sides of the omelette towards the middle allowing the remaining egg mixture to cook.

After approximately 45 seconds, flip or turn omelette and cook the other side for another 45 seconds. Turn off heat and sprinkle the cheese and apply 2-3 knobs of honey goat cheese to one half of the omelette. Slowly slide the cheese-covered half of the omelette onto a plate and, using the pan, fold the remaining half onto itself. Garnish with the remaining chopped green onions.

SOUTHWESTERN OMELETTE • 2 large eggs • teaspoon coarse salt • 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter, for pan

• ½ cup shredded pepper Jack cheese • 2 tablespoons salsa • 1 tablespoon packed fresh cilantro leaves

In a small bowl, whisk together eggs and salt until frothy. To make omelette, add olive oil or butter to heated pan. Fill with cheese, salsa, and cilantro leaves. BAKED CORNED BEEF OMELETTE • 8 large eggs • 1 cup heavy cream • ½ teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned salt • 1 3-ounce package thinly sliced corned beef • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese • 1 tablespoon green onion - chopped

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Beat eggs, cream and seasoned salt together. Tear corned beef into small pieces and add to egg mixture. Stir in cheese and onion. Pour into greased baking dish (8x8x2 inches works great). Bake uncovered 45 minutes or until omelette is set and top is golden brown. HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE: This recipe has roughly 5 grams of carbs per serving.

Thank you for your questionsl These are some recent ones : I see that Always Classic Care is a Nurse Registry. Can a Nurse Registry provide home health services? Absolutely. We provide professional nurses to assess your needs and aides who are carefully screened for the home or for private duty while in the hospital. As an example, Always Classic Care was referred a case a few weeks ago. The client had recent falls and the family was asking for 24-hour assistance in the home. We interviewed the family member as to the patient’s personality, medical condition and personal needs. Learning that the patient had long term care insurance, our staff helped the family initiate insurance, and assigned

an appropriate aide in record time. Our RN visited the client within 3 hours since there was a safety issue involved (usual RN visit is within 48 hours). Upon assessment, the nurse advised the client to go to the ER and reported the same to her family. The client was admitted. Her aide was able to stay with her in the hospital, assisted with her transfer home, and home care for her is now ongoing. This continuity of care is of utmost importance in situations like this. It is of tremendous benefit for the patient and provides confidence for her family, who live out of the area and feel assured that their mom is being taken care of under supervision of a professional nurse registry with whom they can communicate. I don’t need anyone to help me with my shower or getting dressed. I also can put light meals together or pop frozen

dinners or restaurant leftovers in the microwave. What I need is someone to drive me shopping, for errands and to doctor appointments. I also need someone to clean my apartment, because I can’t really do it anymore. Can you help me with this? These are considered private services.
