Aventura Parks’ and SplashPad’s Are Open The City’s parks and SplashPad’s hours of operation have expanded to provide Aventura residents with much needed green space time. • Founders Park, Founders Park South, Peace Park and Veterans Park are open daily (except Tuesdays) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. • Waterways Dog Park is open daily (except Wednesdays) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. • Waterways Park is open on weekdays (except Tuesdays) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends or weekdays when the neighboring Don Soffer Aventura High School is not in session. • The SplashPad, the City’s interactive water playground for children at Founders Park, is open on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) only from 10:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., for Aventura residents only. Guest capacity at the SplashPad is limited for the

safety of everyone and to ensure physical distance; therefore, reservations are required and walkups are limited and not guaranteed. Calling all food fanatics aged 21 and over! Gulfstream Park Village, South Florida’s premier entertainment, dining and restaurant destination located on the border of Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, will be the site of the fun-filled Hallandale Beach Food & Groove: A Wine, Food and Art Experience on Saturday, May 22, from 5–9 p.m. as part of the 20th annual Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One (SOBEWFF®). The Festival’s Hallandale Beach Event Series is a part of the HBCRA`s strategic plan to promote economic development by branding the City as a destination for food, arts and entertainment, while also attracting international exposure to local participating restaurants. This is the second year in a row that the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA) is partnering with SOBEWFF® to host the Hallandale Beach Event Series. This exciting evening of outdoor fun, wine, food, art, live music, and entertainment at Gulfstream Park Village’s Pegasus Park will be hosted by 101.5 Lite FM’s Those 2 Girls in the Morning, Julie Guy & Tamara G. Guests can watch the sunset while enjoying refreshing libations from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio. Participating restaurants include Belly Fish, Ten Palms and Pastry is Art, all three located at Gulfstream Park Village. Aventura Summer Camp 2021 There’s a camp for everyone this summer at the City’s 2021 Summer Camp program, which includes a variety of special interest camps starting Monday, June 14th, 2021. Online registration is open. Campers will spend their summer break making new friends and enjoying plenty of activities in their camp of interest. Schedule All camps (unless specified) will be held Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. starting Monday, June 14th, 2021 through Friday, August 20th, 2021. Two-week session rates are available and vary, based on the selected camp. Camps will be held at the Aventura Community Recreation Center and Tennis Camp, will be held at Founders Park. All registrations must be received by the Saturday prior to the selected session.

Celebrate 2021 Graduates Aventura’s 2nd Annual High School Graduation Car Parade The City of Aventura is excited to announce and host its 2nd annual High School Graduation Car Parade Celebration, Class of 2021 & Done, which will take place on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021. Registration to participate is required. The celebratory drive will begin at the Aventura Mall (East Lot) at 6:45 p.m. and proceed through a route escorted by the Aventura Police Department around the City. Participating cars will be able to line up and prepare for the parade at the lot as early as 6:00 p.m. in the area where the numbered 51 and 52 light poles are. Let’s celebrate the graduating senior class of 2021 on their academic accomplishments and their future as they embark on new journeys after high school with a DJ, plenty of photo opportunities and the car parade around the City of Excellence. The Aventura Police Department will be selling hot dogs, water, snow-cones and popcorn. Graduation and/or college spirited decorations are encouraged on all participating cars!

For the safety of everyone and to ensure physical distancing, participation in the celebration is limited to 150 graduating seniors and requires registration. Registration is open and will close on Sunday, May 16th, 2021. Only the graduating senior would need to reserve a ticket. CITY NEWS Sewer Project Continues Affecting Island Boulevard and N.E. 183 St The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is continuing an improvement construction project in Aventura to replace existing wastewater lines. The project is expected to be completed by March of 2022. Full Project Description: The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) began their improvement construction project in Aventura on Monday, April 19, 2021 to replace existing wastewater lines along Island Boulevard and N.E. 183 Street from Biscayne Boulevard east to Williams Island. To enhance the reliability of the wastewater system, the Department will be upgrading the water and sewer infrastructure by replacing existing wastewater lines with new lines. One of these projects is new 12-inch, 14-inch and 16-inch wastewater lines on Island Boulevard - NE 183 Street from PS No. 0499 to Biscayne Blvd. They will replace existing 8-inch, 12inch and 18-inch wastewater lines. The upgrade of these lines has been expedited to enhance the reliability of the wastewater system. Most of the construction work will occur Monday through Friday

Westbound lanes between Biscayne Boulevard and N.E. 27 Avenue will be closed. Westbound traffic will be detoured using N.E. 185 Street and sections of construction areas on N.E. 183 Street to allow continuous use of residence driveways and access to adjacent roadways. between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There may be some night work when necessary. The project is expected to be completed by March of 2022. Impact to traffic is expected in the affected area. Westbound lanes between

Youth Travel Soccer Teams Tryouts The City of Aventura is holding open tryouts for its Youth Travel Soccer teams in May at Waterways Park. Registration is required for tryouts and is open to all boys and girls, ages 6-16. The tryouts are free, but registration is required.
