Hemp & Heal Launches ‘Emergency Opiate Crisis’ Helping Veterans Get Help - And Putting Them Back On Their Feet With A Job Constructing Solar Panels

Nobody has to tell you that opioid overdoses have become a public health crisis in this country. To put in perspective on how bad things are: three times as many people in the U.S. die each year from opioid overdoses than from gun-related homicides (according to the CDC, 33,000 opioidrelated deaths vs. 11,000 gun-related homicides). In the last 12 years, deaths from opioid overdoses have skyrocketed over 400%. In 2017 alone, nearly 19,000 Americans died from opioids. Even President Trump has officially declared it a health emergency. “It has become so important to find a way to combat opioid addiction that we have something that really works and is proven,” said Jonah Bolt, Founder of Hemp & Heal. “Through hemp oil, we can, and have, successfully gotten so many off a drug that claims so many millions of lives.” Because of Hemp & Heal’s commitment to fighting this strangling epidemic, the company has launched the ‘Emergency Opiate Crisis’ - which will help fight and eliminate the addiction through hemp oils and other products that have been proven to work. Perhaps one of the groups that has been affected by this are the Native Americans. A population where there are a depressed or a low socioeconomic factors, and are more vulnerable to opiate overdose. Many Native American populations suffer from what is known as historical and intergenerational trauma, which has to do with historical events that have afflicted Native American tribes, causing increased rates of depression, drug use and drug addiction. “Because of the work we have done with our many patients, using our products, word of mouth reached the world famous Woodrow Labs in California, who knew that we would be perfect for the Native Americans and the epidemic,” Bolt said. “Our hemp products have proven to work and that is why it was so important for us to meet with the Native Americans.” On a recent trip to Wisconsin to speak with the elders and tribal leaders, Bolt found that there are 12 Native American Indian tribes in that state alone. From the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior to the Tribe of Chippewa Indians and many more, there are opiate problems throughout the state - and the information Bolt and Hemp & Heal passed on will certainly help combat this epidemic.
“What we wanted to show everyone was how effective the products were,” Bolt explained. “In 7 days, without any heavy withdrawals or cravings, hemp products will completely separate them from the addiction.” The meeting was vital for many reasons - and having 56 Native American reservations across the country, it is Hemp & Heal that will start the road to recovery. Reaching Out To The Veterans Another huge part of this opiate crisis centers around our veterans. Nobody has had it worse than those who are wounded physically and mentally - often turning to the drug to escape rejection and fear. At a recent seminar at Hippocrates Health Institute in Palm Beach, Bolt had the chance to speak in front of 60 physicians who were on hand - and spoke about the epidemic and how Hemp & Heal’s products have been amazing in combating this world-wide problem. “Getting the chance to talk with these outstanding doctors, some who work with veterans, showed them how they can fight the opiate crisis with our products,” Bolt said. “The great people at Hippocrates Health Institute have been very supportive of what we do as well.” In also helping the veterans, Hemp & Heal is finalizing a deal in Asheville, N.C. that will not only house and help many who have an opiate addiction, but this “pilot program” will also grow hemp, teaching many how to do it - as well as building solar panels that will one day help sustain communities without outside help. “This program, which is going to start in Asheville, will be a project that will eventually find itself going everywhere,” Bolt said. “By having our own growing houses, we control all of our products. At the same time, we are doing our part with the energy by constructing these solar panels and putting the veterans to work.” Bolt and Hemp and Heal is also off to Australia - where the interest in this pilot program has been amazing. They have also developed 88 mobile shipping containers that are for growing and sleeping and are equipped to help eventually develop communities. There are 44 currently in Georgia and 44 in Oregon. “The concept of being a sustainable community, using the solar power has also gotten us calls from people in Haiti and Puerto Rico, where last hurricane season exposed some real problems that still exist,” Bolt explained. “There will soon be
locations around the world where growing hemp will be part of a progressive culture.” Having watched firsthand what hemp can do for all of us - especially his own family, and of course, himself, Bolt has taken his passion and knowledge to the next level - and beyond. Throughout the working years there are many factors to consider, such as salary, expenses – monthly and unforeseen – debt and college for the kids, just to name a few. All of those can affect a person’s ability to, first, devise a consistent plan for their retirement goals, and secondly, accumulate the necessary capital to provide ample retirement income. hieve them. Meanwhile, costly mistakes can be made that will have implications down the road. “A retirement strategy has many moving parts, and each can have a significant impact on the others,” says Jadon Newman, CEO of Noble Capital (www.noblecapital.com), a financial advisory firm. “Many people often make the same mistakes. “There are ways to avoid them, and much of it is about knowledge. There’s more you need to know about retirement today than you did 20 or 30 years ago. It starts with knowing what lifestyle you want to achieve in retirement and the options that will both protect you and enhance what should be the best years of your life.”
Newman gives four common mistakes in retirement planning and how to avoid them: Investing like you’re still young. Earlier in their working careers, people often have a higher risk tolerance. But approaching retirement, Newman says, your investment strategy should shift toward preserving capital. “Phase out those investments that are subject to wider fluctuations,” Newman says. “The gradual move away from riskier investments should begin as you enter your mid- to late 40s.” Leaving your nest egg vulnerable to big market drops. Putting your entire nest egg in one basket could be disastrous. “Having an excessive amount of market risk in your portfolio, you could find yourself suffering a loss that you won’t have time to recover from before you retire,” Newman says. “With stocks having surged for an extended period, beware the bear market. It would be wise to purge some risk from your portfolio in favor of more predictable methods of capital growth and income.
Not satisfying basic income needs. It has become less realistic for a 401(k) coupled with Social Security to provide the regular income needed for retirement. It’s important to estimate what yearly expenses will be in retirement and diversify accordingly. “Use your investments, insurance policies or retirement accounts to provide multiple income streams,” Newman says. “This allows you to draw from them only what you need to meet your pre-determined budget. Be sure you calculate your Social Security payment and any required minimum distributions so you don’t incur additional tax liability.” Having the wrong kind of annuity. A crucial component of a comfortable retirement is reliable income, and a common way to achieve that is by using annuities. Unfortunately, some retirees find themselves with an annuity that doesn’t fit their needs. A fixed annuity pays out a guaranteed rate of return, providing less risk compared to variable annuities, but the tradeoff is you get a
more modest return. “Sometimes a fixed index annuity (FIA) is the best bet,” Newman says. “These allow you to protect your principal by shifting the risk to the
insurance company selling you the annuity. There are caps on your potential returns, but FIAs are more reliable because they mitigate risk.” “With retirement planning, the end goal should be not only to ensure you’ll have enough income to satisfy your retirement budget, but also to provide you with enough to truly enjoy your retirement,” Newman says. “Because life goals and the economic climate are subject to change, you need to consult your financial adviser annually to optimize your strategy.”

(BPT) - This is the best time of the year. A full season of golf awaits, and you want to get out and play. Making this your best season yet means starting the year off on the right foot. But to do that, you need more than just practice and coaching. You need the right gear. Research done by Golf Magazine showed that golfers who used custom-fit clubs gained 22 yards off the tee, 15 yards with their irons and lowered their scores by an average of 3 strokes per round.
To lower your scores, here are three tips to find the perfect custom-fit clubs. 1. Find the ideal shaft The choices in shafts extend far beyond steel and graphite. It’s a matter of flex and it can mean something different for every manufacturer. Flex is significantly impacted by torque, one of the most misunderstood shaft specifications. Higher torque shafts are better for smoother, slower swingers. Lower torque is better for players that swing aggressively. With widely variable shaft, grip and clubhead weighting, swingweight is more important than ever. It affects how you swing the club and ultimately how you deliver it at impact. A heavier swingweight, for example, will make a shaft play looser; a lighter swingweight will make it play stiffer. The most important thing to remember is you should be matching clubs within a set. If your clubs aren’t matched properly, it will impact your game. Take steps to improve your game today Practice and lessons are important, but you need the right gear in your hands. 5 ways to help your child deal with stress (BPT) - “Stress isn’t the same for all children, and it impacts every one differently,” said Dr. Cheryl S. Al-Mateen, medical director of the Virginia Treatment Center for Children. “In fact, in some cases this stress can even be traumatic. If left unnoticed, it can lead to real mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, self-harm and even substance abuse.” Mental health plays a significant role in a child’s overall health. Sometimes, however, topics around mental health can feel overwhelming or confusing for parents. Many may find it difficult to spot the difference between traditional school stress and potential trauma. Fortunately, there are many resources available to help. As a start, Al-Mateen offers five recommendations to support parents in understanding school issues, helping children cope and tackling problems.
Check in about school and activities. Give your child your undivided attention for 5 to 10 minutes every day to talk about their friends, teachers and classes. Open yourself to hearing the good and bad, and ask what they find difficult like feeling too nervous to talk or being teased for talking too much. Strengthen your lines of communication. Your child may be more open about school if you have frequent conversations about other things as well. Talk to them about the little stuff, and they’ll be more apt to tell you about the big stuff. Listen without judging, and be ready to engage them in an activity if that makes them more comfortable. Braiding your child’s hair, shooting a few baskets in the driveway can lead to great conversations.
Work with your school. If your child is showing signs of stress that concern you, don’t be afraid to reach out to their teachers or principal. Your child’s teacher may be able to shed light on what’s causing the stress and, if nothing else, can help watch out for your child during the school day. Establish a routine at home. Children thrive in stable, consistent environments. Creating a predictable schedule is helpful, if you can, but sometimes that’s just not possible. Make a big family calendar and keep it where everyone can access it. This empowers children to know what’s coming up and helps provide the solid foundation they crave at home. They’ll be better prepared to deal with changes and unexpected situations they may face at school. Seek help when you need it. How do you know if your child needs help beyond what you or the school can provide? Look for warning signs. For example, young children may complain about stomachaches and headaches that have no physical explanation. When depressed, a child may say that they’re angry, rather than sad, so listen for both especially when their eating or sleeping patterns also change dramatically, they seem to have low energy or they aren’t taking pleasure in things they enjoyed before. These may be signs of a larger problem that needs to be addressed immediately with help from mental health professionals. The school years are exciting, important times for your children, but they can be tough. Check in with your child daily and don’t downplay the stress they may feel. 5 Ways A Healthy Gut Makes A Healthy Brain The idiom “trust your gut” means relying on intuition, rather than thoughtful, deep analysis, to make a decision. But
research shows there is actually a tangible connection between gut health and brain health, and that linkage can affect emotions and cognitive processing. Research conducted at the California Institute of Technology by Elaine Hsiao showed how unhealthy or healthy microorganisms in the stomach can influence
behaviors differently. Another study, led by Kirsten Tillisch at UCLA, suggested probiotics can have a positive effect on behavior, mental outlook and brain function. “Scientists have now determined that humans have two brains; the second one resides in the gut and is called the enteric nervous system,” says Richard Purvis, author of Recalibrate: Six Secrets To Resetting Your Age and CEO of Skin Moderne Inc. (www.skinmoderne.com). “It has more neurons than the spinal column or central nervous system. Understanding the relationship helps to clarify why the process of taking care of the gut and the brain within it also helps improve the health of the brain in your head.”
Given Americans’ notoriously poor eating habits, Purvis says gut health has never been more important. A Tufts University study estimates that over 318,000 deaths a year – or nearly half of American deaths caused by heart disease, stroke and diabetes – were hastened by unhealthy eating. “Processed foods and sugar are among the biggest culprits for promoting the growth of bad bacteria in the gut,” Purvis says. Purvis recommends four nutritional tips – and a nature trip – that benefit your gut and your brain: Daily servings of cultured, fermented probiotic-rich foods. “Sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha pickled veggies, yogurt, and kefir encourage the growth of good bacteria,” Purvis says. “By ingesting healthy, probiotic-rich foods, you are

3 Ways Millennials Can Help Their Baby Boomer Parents Get Fit Aging baby boomers who neglect their health and fitness don’t just harm themselves. Their lifestyles also affect their adult children, who eventually could end up caring for them – both financially and physically – as their health declines. Of course, that’s not the only reason those adult children might feel concerned. They also may like having mom and dad around, and want that to continue for years to come. So they have a vested interest in encouraging their parents to get fit and stay fit. But young adults who cringe at their parents’ eating and exercise habits may be reluctant to broach the subject. How can they start such a conversation? And what are some suggestions for healthy living their parents are likely to put into practice? One thing that might be tempting, but probably won’t work, is a harsh lecture, says Jaime Brenkus (www. exercisewithjaime.com), a nationally recognized fitness expert and fitness coach for Evergreen Wellness®, which provides videos and articles to help older adults enjoy healthier lives. “You don’t need to give them a sermon,” he says. “But you should remind them of how important exercise and
healthy eating are, and how much you care about having them around for you and for the grandchildren.” There is plenty of nutrition and exercise advice that can help older people, but Brenkus says a few starter tips include: Encourage them to drink more water. This may sound basic, but not everyone drinks as much water as they should – even though this is a healthy habit that’s simple to accomplish. Recommend they try strength training. The most effective way to increase metabolism and to help reverse the aging process. Make sure they socialize. This isn’t directly related to exercise, but studies have shown that people who are active socially are healthier and live longer lives. Socializing. “Helping your parents adopt a healthier lifestyle is about encouraging them to change their habits for eating, cooking, shopping and fitness,” Brenkus says. “And even more importantly, it’s about helping them to change their thinking habits.

5 Non-Surgical Steps For Treating Your Arthritis It is the leading cause of disability among U.S. adults over 55, and in many cases leads to total-joint replacements. That is a big decision – sometimes necessary, sometimes premature, says Dr. Victor Romano (www.drvictorromano.com), an orthopedist and author of Finding The Source: Maximizing Your Results – With and Without Orthopaedic Surgery. “Totaljoint replacements are wonderful and can be life-changing, but they also can wear down and become infected,” Romano says. “The best approach for arthritis of the knee, for example, is to wait as long as possible before replacing the knee. There are several steps you can take to deal with arthritis before a surgical option. These measures, some of which you can perform without the aid of a medical professional, often can significantly lessen the pain and improve the quality of life.”
Romano recommends five steps you can take to handle arthritis before opting for surgery: Wear good shoes with arch supports. With weight bearing and time, the arches in feet tend to fail. “Good shoes with arch supports improve the alignment of the feet and ultimately improve the alignment of the knees,” Romano says. “The feet and ankles act as shock absorbers for the knees.”
Use a hinged knee brace, as needed, for support. Wear the smallest brace that makes you the most comfortable. “Do not wear the brace for everyday activities,” Romano says, “but for extra activities such as golfing, shopping or exercise. It unloads the arthritic area and allows you to pursue more pain-free activities, which you may not have been able to do otherwise.”
Have a daily exercise and balance program. Studies show that arthritic patients who exercise do much better than those who don’t. Romano recommends at least a 20-minute daily exercise program for all patients with arthritis. “Exercise should include stretching, aerobic activity, and strength training,” he says.
Eat nutritious foods; keep your weight under control. Weight loss reduces the stress on your knees and increases mobility. “Why not try an antiinflammatory diet?” Romano says. “Sugar and processed foods cause inflammation of the arteries as well as inflammation of the joints.”
Improve your bone health. Improving your bone health with increased calcium intake,
that can be removed with surgery or scraped out with a scope,” Romano says. “You must

Most first-time homebuyers go with a 30-year fixedrate mortgage, which locks you into an interest rate with steady, predictable payments.
