Actor, Writer And Lyricist: Jim Rado. Native New Yorkers, Jackson and Kessler, affectionately known as M&M, share more than 30 years of producing, directing, writing, composing, choreographing and performing internationally from ballet to Broadway, Radio City Music Hall, the Las Vegas Strip, to theaters and opera houses worldwide. In addition to decades of international tours of their original shows, the couple have performed in Tommy Tune’s Broadway show, “Grand Hotel,’ choreographed the Winter Olympics, the U.S. Pro Gymnastics tour, directed and choreographed the 30th Anniversary tour of the hit rock musical “Hair” and many more. Their career is a show business fairy tale that began in a professional ballet class in New York City. LOVE, AVENTURA: SALUTING THE AVENTURA MOMS By Joyce R. Forchion
Solidifying a Legacy of Service During Women’s History Month Many would argue that mothers represent the backbone of a family structure. They are leaders, confidantes, protectors, and disciplinarians. With the enormous responsibilities placed upon their shoulders to manage their households and prioritize their children’s needs, where can contemporary mothers turn for friendship, collaboration, and a sense of community? In 2016, Aventura wife and mother Esther Bensusan founded a social network called Aventura Moms – a closed social network exceeding 10k targeting other local mothers seeking a supportive group and sense of solace. The collective meets to share family resources, exchange business directories, host parenting conversations, and experience opportunities for service. “The group’s goal is for moms and families with kids living in
Aventura to quickly find answers, recommendations, resources, advice, and access to immediate information. This group allows you to ask questions and receive quick answers or suggestions from fellow moms based on their experiences, saving the hassle and time to search for the same information,” said Bensusan. “Additionally, the group informs my followers of fun events happening around Miami, good deals, and interesting store finds.” A former marketing executive for one of Canada’s notable infant brands, Bensusan moved to Aventura in 2014. Despite her close proximity to Aventura Mall and other entertainment attractions, she quickly experienced difficulty obtaining listings of child-friendly activities that would appeal to parents in the area. Now, her Facebook community caters to over ten thousand members and Instagram following is quickly emerging.
“I wanted to create a group where I could connect with other mothers in Aventura, using this group as a resource to find suitable schools, camps, after-school activities, and birthday venues, just to name a few. I didn’t want new moms to feel alone, but rather meet other moms who share the same lifestyles,” she said. Known for participating in its sponsored partnership with The Power of the Heels Foundation and Bloomingdale’s Mix Masters Fashion Show, the Moms have built a track record of offering charitable contributions to residents in need. “I can recall multiple times where people have reached out to me personally to share their gratitude. One time, a single mother reached out to me to let me know she had no money to buy milk for her baby and food for her older children. Within a few hours, I was able to bring a few Moms together to supply her with enough groceries to last a
few weeks,” she said. “Since it was right around Christmas, one of our members offered to supplement our organizational gesture with gifts for her kids.” In light of Women’s History Month, Bensusan is determined to establish a legacy of equitable women’s leadership and giving throughout the Aventura community. “‘Together We Are Stronger’ is my slogan that is often used in my group because it portrays the importance of
togetherness. No matter what challenges we face as moms and women, the power of unity is indeed what keeps us going,” she said. “The group’s primary focus will always be grounded in respect, transparency, and acceptance. Aventura Moms is all about helping one another and connecting individuals who can learn from each other, and women can use this platform as a safe space without judgment and endless support.”

Clark Center, 111 Northwest 1st Avenue at 9:45 a.m. His mission is to demonstrate divine intervention through the power of prayer to freely help those who come believing that Jesus still works miracles, regardless of their illnesses or physical challenges, adults and children nothing is too hard/ impossible for God, without faith it is impossible to please God! Pastor Harris said the purpose of this Easter event is to awaken and raise the power of Christ’s consciousness in others, his method is simple, Jesus Christ is the Lord and he desires to save every soul and heal all sick and disabled bodies, the age of miracles has not yet passed. Harris carries a firm belief that God chooses whomever he pleases as gifted instruments to heal others who believe and seek divine intervention. According to the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ commands us to preach the Gospel and to heal the sick. (Matthew 10:8) With no agenda other than to demonstrate the power of Jesus Christ to others in a unique and peculiar way, he stands on the bedrock of faith, that with God all things are possible even in a faithless world of skepticism and criticism. Our mission is to demonstrate events or effects in the physical world beyond or out of the ordinary course of things, deviating from the known laws of nature, through the power of prayer to help others connect with the divine will and purpose of God to be in good health, for the salvation of their souls and for the glory of God. Harris, who has been an outreach minister for the past 17 years, saw first hand that miracles do happen through the power of prayer. Throughout his years as a Pastor, he has administered healing through Christ to help many individuals back to perfect health and wellbeing, some no longer taking medication, many currently living without any physical discomfort. He has learned to see things through the eyes of a mystic.
Humbly, he carries out his divine mission amongst family/friends and colleagues in an unpublicized manner and continues to point others to Jesus Christ’s salvation, he said that salvation and spiritual healing is not for sale nor in contrast for financial gain. Harris never encourages anyone not to ever seek medical attention, however he hopes prayer for divine physical healing to be an option alongside modern medicine in the near future. Our mission is to open the first brick and mortar Divine Intervention Clinic in the USA in the near future, a place where miracles happen for those who come in faith. The paraplegic will walk, the deaf will hear, the dumb will speak, the blind will see and sicknesses will be healed in the name of Jesus Christ. Harris migrated from the West Indies to the USA at the age of 19, he registered with the United States Armed Forces Selected Services, he later migrated his immediate family to the USA and is a proud father of a son currently serving in the United States Marine Corp. and a daughter, who is a Veteran of the US Navy, he encourages his family that the American Dream is a reality that must be taken seriously through hard work, sacrifice and dedication. Harris said growing up in the countryside of the West Indies was a rough, tough and hard life. But through it all, his faith and spirituality kept him strong and courageous and focused, holding on to the highest mission in this life on Earth to fulfill his true divine purpose through Jesus Christ. Harris said he was divinely led to the busy Miami area location for this Miracle Day Event and pursued obtaining a permit from the City of Miami to hold the event. CITY NEWS Aventura Film Series Continues Brighton 4th, A Story of Parental Sacrifice and The Love of a Father The Aventura International Film Series continues with Brighton 4th on Tuesday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. This story of parental sacrifice and the love of a father for his son, won three major awards at the Tribeca Film Festival: Best International Film, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay and is Georgia’s official submission to the 94th Academy Awards®. In the movie, former wrestler Kakhi, played by real-life Olympic champion Levan Tediashvili, embarks on a journey from his home in the Republic of Georgia to visit his son Soso, portrayed by Giorgi Tabidze, in the Russianspeaking neighborhood of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. There, he finds him living in a shabby boarding house populated by a colorful group of fellow Georgian immigrants. Not rated, this film is in Georgian and Russian with English subtitles. The Aventura International Film Series presented by the City of Aventura is hosted by Shelly Isaacs who introduces the film and leads a post-screening discussion. Spring Break At The City of Aventura The City is offering a traditional camp program and specialty programs that focus on particular interests like basketball, soccer, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), art, dance, and tennis. Each program provides not only the chance for children to make new friends and memories, but also experience a one-of-a-kind adventure over their spring break vacation. Camp will be held Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25, 2022. General camp and specialty camp programs will be held Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Aventura Community Recreation Center located at 3375 NE 188 St. Tennis Camp will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Founders Park located at 3105 NE 190 St.
The Aventura Resident weekly rate for general camp is $175, specialty camps are $210, and Tennis Camp is $275. Cannabis Straight Talk from Miracle Leaf The annual National Cannabis Day, which is observed on Wednesday, April 20 is approaching, Geo Tejada of the Miracle Leaf Cannabis health center in Hallandale Beach seeks to set the record straight on his products. “There’s a lot of confusion about Cannabis,” he says. “People want to know why they should consider the use of Cannabis. Where can they buy these products? Is Cannabis legal in Florida? Do people need a license to buy? How can Cannabis products be used.” Tejada explains that Cannabis products come from the Cannabis sativa plant, a widely cultivated crop around the world. “It exists in multiple varieties,” he says.

THC vs CBD Some varieties of Cannabis have psychoactive properties that produce a euphoric reaction. They contain a relatively high concentration of a substance called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The common name for such varieties is marijuana. Florida law allows the use of “medical marijuana” that is high in THC for certain qualifying conditions, including cancer, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV-AIDS, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Patients must obtain a medical marijuana card and a recommendation from a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine who has taken a course and passed an exam to receive certification as a marijuana physician. Upon being approved, patients join a registry and receive a medical marijuana card. Then they may purchase their recommendation THC products from a dispensary licensed by the state. “Today,” Tejada says, “over 500,000 patients are registered in Florida.” The rules are different for other varieties of Cannabis, known as hemp, that contain only trace amounts of THC. During World War II, the U.S. government used hemp to make canvas, rope, and uniforms. Today it is a source of products as diverse as biofuel, cement, cosmetics,
clothing, insulation, paper, and textiles. “Hemp became a federally approved crop under the 2018 farm bill, and all of our products are hemp-based,” Tejada says. “Their primary substance, cannabidiol (CBD), lacks euphoric properties but still can alleviate symptoms of anxiety, pain, and stress associated with a variety of medical conditions. “You don’t need a medical marijuana

While product packaging and your veterinarian may offer guidelines, every pet is different, so start slowly and work up to an optimal dosage.
