The City of Aventura presents Over The Rainbow: Becky O’Brien Celebrates the Music of Judy Garland on Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. O’Brien has met with great critical acclaim from her many performances at the London Palladium, as a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent and with a hugely successful Off Broadway run of A Garland For Judy. Simon Cowell was left choked up on Britain’s Got Talent after Becky O’Brien’s emotional performance.
“Wow. I was not expecting that.Your voice is so beautiful, so authentic, it was just so emotional. This is why we love making this show, is to find people like you. That was your moment and you took it and it was fantastic. Thank God Jack said to you last year, ‘Come and audition forBritain’sGotTalent’”SimonCowell.
The music mogul looked visibly moved after the mother of five performed an incredibly emotional renditionofSomewhereOvertheRainbow.
Broadway World reported, “The audience was awed. Each note that came from her tiny frame soared. O’Brien exuded in her words a trait she shares with her inspirationfortheshow,Garland…aglasshalffulloptimism.”
People say O’Brien was born 50 years too late as she transports audiences to an era long forgotten. She first gained fame as a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent causing host Simon Cowell to exclaim, “The reason we do this
show is to find people like you, that was your moment andyoutookit!”
To celebrate what would have been the week of Garland’s 100th birthday last June, O’Brien starred in Over the Rainbow at the Hippodrome Casino in London and was the British ambassador for Judy – A Garland Fragrance by Vincenzo Spinnato created closely with the GarlandFamilyandTheGarlandHeirsTrust.
Songs that will be featured during the performance include: I Got Rhythm, The Man That Got Away, Get Happyand–naturally–OvertheRainbow.

Chris Ruggiero has been touring the country at a dizzying pace, taking his audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll and breathing new life into the timeless music of the 50s, 60s & 70s. Chris has been described as an “old soul” at only 23 years old, whose approach to his concert appearances is more in line with that of a bygone era than it is the artists of his generation. Chris says, “I try to make every move and sing every song with a touch of class that reminds the audience of a time when entertainers put their heart and soul into their songs and delivering an exceptional
concertwasparamount.”
Chris first came to national attention when he performed in concert on one of PBS-TV’s coast-to-coast broadcast specials, which still airs to this day. Since then, Chris has been traveling around the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll and sharing his passion for the classics. He’s shared the stage with some of the most legendary artists in the history of rock and roll and been inspired to carry the torch. What Michael Bublé did for the swing music of the 40s and 50s, Chris Ruggiero does for the poprock standards of the 60s and 70s. If
there’s any doubt that what he’s doing is resonating with audiences, his Facebook page reached a staggering 63 million peoplelastyear.
If you remember songs like “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” “My Cherie Amour,” “One” & “This Magic Moment,” you’ll relish an evening spent with Chris. His unique interpretations of those and more are not only vocal triumphs, they feature brand new orchestrations by poprock legend Charlie Calello (who is also a fan, commenting, “It’s been a long time since I heard a voice like this.”) Chris has also collaborated with legendary pop stars
such as Darlene Love, The Cyrkle & Peter Noone. Chances are you’ll know every word to every song and the magical feeling will live on long after Chris leaves the stage.
Tickets: Chris will perform at The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Friday, March 17th at 7:30 PM, tickets start at $49.00.You can purchase tickets online at aventuracenter.org, by phone at: 877.311. 7469 or 954.462.0222 or in person. Like only the most gifted storytellers, Matisyahu spins the rare kind of story
Gelb Productions, LLC. Presents An Acoustic Evening with Matisyahu on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 and Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. Described by the Miami NewTimes as “tremendous, zenlike and enlightening,” Matisyahu performs a stripped back acoustic show with his long-time friend, collaborator and Local Guitarist Adam Weinberg. Presented in his repertoire’s most raw form, Matisyahu allows his voice and beatboxing, paired with inventive guitar arrangements, to expand through lyrical intensity and musical improvisation. This format naturally digs deep into the meaning of the song itself, and lays Matisyahu’s spiritual journey bare, bringing a closeness to the artist-fan relationship.
Like only the most gifted storytellers, Matisyahu spins the rare kind of stories that simultaneously enlighten and enthrall
and expand the audience’s sense of possibility. On his eponymous new album, the Grammy Awardnominated singer/songwriter/ rapper shares his most autobiographical work to date, merging that personal revelation with a shapeshifting collision of reggae and hip-hop and boldly inventive pop. Produced by Salt Cathedral (a Brooklyn-based duo comprised of Colombian musicians Juliana Ronderos and Nicolas Losada), the result is an undeniably transformative album, one that invites both intense introspection and unbridledcelebration.
“Throughout my life so much of my music has come from struggling with a sort of existential loneliness, even though a lot of the music is very joyful,” says Matisyahu. “I ended up in a place where I’ve found the person who’s my soulmate and made a beautiful life with her and that’s the place where this recordwasborn.”
The seventh studio album from the New York artist, Matisyahu arrives as the latest achievement in an extraordinary
career that’s included landing a #1 hit on alternative rock radio (with his Billboard Hot 100charting breakthrough single “King Without a Crown,”) collaborating with the likes of reggae legends Sly and Robbie, and amassing a global following largely on the strength of his transcendent live show. In bringing the album to life, Ronderos and Losada joined Matisyahu at his former home on the Hudson River in Nyack, where the three musicians soon immersed themselves in an unfettered and improvisation-fueled creative process. “Working with Juli was the first time I’ve ever had a female producer, and it influenced the record in an amazing way,” says Matisyahu, who first collaborated with Salt Cathedral on his 2016 EP Release of the Bound. “I felt free to bring more sensitivity or sensuality to my vocals, and really explore the subtletiesofmyvoice.”
Rooted in a lushly detailed yet minimalist sound, Matisyahu sheds light on the shadowy complexities of his psyche while endlessly radiating a euphoric
energy. On the album’s dancehall-infused lead single “Chameleon,” for instance, he presents a potent piece of selfreflection spiked with equal parts idiosyncratic wordplay and warmly expressed wisdom (“Turn an evil eye inverted to let the light in/Illuminate the evil till dem heart get sizzlin’”).
“There are some people who are like a rock, who never change, but I’ve always been able to shed my skin to fit with whatever I wanted to be part of,” says Matisyahu of the song’s origins. In a perfect counterpart to its kaleidoscopic rhythms and otherworldly textures, “Chameleon” also features a spellbinding guest verse from Ronderos, who adds herownrapturousperspective.

Mike has brought the art of magic back to the people and has pioneered a new form of magic with his own inimitable, down-to-earth style and personality. He transcends the “trick” and connects personally with his audience on a level they can relate to.
The City of Aventura Presents an evening of the impossible with Mike Super Magic & Illusion: Third Time’s a Charm! on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. This bigger and better show features some all new, never before seen magic, along with a few new twists on some old favorites. Super’s imaginary friend Desmond is again summoned and this time causes a table to float out over the audiences’ heads and around the audience. Audiences should be careful what they text as Super impossibly predicts information on their cellphones. Except for one bewildered spectator, Super turns the entire audience into magicians by letting them in on the secret of having the power to read minds. Called “truly unbelievable” by Ellen DeGeneres, Super has been seen on her show as well as America’s Got Talent, NBC’s Phenomenon and Penn & Teller’sFoolUs.
A great way to introduce the whole family to live theater, his show can be described as a great Broadway play meets a rock concert, meets the hilarity of a headline comedian, immersed in original, eye popping visual deception.
Mike began his magic at age six. He used to do shows in his backyard every week and he’d wear his black Dracula Cape from Halloween while performing. He says “It was pretty
embarrassing. I charged a nickel per person at those perform ances.”
Today, Mike has amazed Howie Mandel, Kim Kardashian, Louie Anderson, Howard Stern, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Ariana Grande, Tina Fey, Heidi Klum, Nick Cannon, Penn & Teller, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Criss Angel, Raven-Symone, Train, Kenny Chesney and Ellen DeGeneres to namebutafew!
Mike’s ever-growing popular ity has garnered him many pres tigious awards and honors, including being the only magi cian in history to win a LIVE magic competition on pri metime US network television. In addition, his other accom plishments include being named Entertainer of the Year, Best Performing Artist of the Year, Best Novelty Performer of the Year AND he was voted America’s Favorite Mystifier on NBC’s hit TV Show PHENOMENON.
He has pioneered a new form of magic with his own inimi table, down-to-earth style and personality. Mike has brought the art of magic back to the peo ple. He transcends the “trick” and connects personally with his audience on a level they can relate to. Whether it’s through television, stage or simply oneon-one, Mike Super’s personality and humor reaches out and enchants the public. His appeal to both young and old has made him one of the most sought after mystifiersintheworld!
Despite all of this, Mike humbly insists, it is the loyalty of his fan base that has been most rewarding. His legions of fans call themselves “THE SUPERFREAKS” and they numberinthemillions.

In the Bolivian highlands, at more than 3,500 meters above sea level, climate change is forcing communities to change their customary ways of life
Kino Lorber, an International Film Distributor based in New York is proud to announce the U.S. theatrical release of UTAMA, the visually stunning debut fea ture by Bolivian Filmmaker Alejandro Loayza Grisi. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize (World Cinema Dramatic) at the Sundance Film Festival, UTAMA was recently announced as Bolivia’s official Oscar® submission for Best International Feature. Lensed by Award-Winning Cinematographer Barbara Álvarez (Lucrecia Martel’s The HeadlessWoman), this moving drama of cultural survival amidst an urgent climate crisis signals the auspicious cinematic breakthrough ofLoayzaGrisi.
From The Director
In the Bolivian highlands, at more than 3,500 meters above sea level, climate change is forcing communities to change their customary ways of life. Rainy seasons are becoming shorter and droughts are lasting longer, glaciers are thawing and water is becoming scarce, the nights are getting colder and the days hotter. It is one of the most exposed and most vulnerable territories to climate change on Earth.
The already hostile territory is becoming increasingly inhospitable, forc ing native populations to migrate to cities where they do not know how to live and where they face a language that is not their own. They have very few opportunities in this new environment, particularly the oldest among them. Therefore, many elders are reluctant to join the enormous migration of recent years that has left the Bolivian countryside increasingly uninhabited.
I was born and raised in La Paz, a city that has historically received Aymara migrants from the nearby Altiplano countryside. Our city, our beliefs and our ways of being have been strongly marked by the coexistence between both Spanish and Aymara cultures. But despite this history, very few of our inhabitants are aware that some of the first great victims of climate change are only a few kilometers away.
I believe that telling a story from the
point of view of those people who are very close to us, who still live in the countryside and face the agony of seeing their way of life disappear, is vital for understanding the human cost of climate change. It allows us to consider the collat-
degradation of nature. Stylistically, each shot means something unto itself, but within the context of a film they enrich the narrative. The wide landscapes, the portraits highlighting the characters deep gazes and the moments of silence are my tools to tell a story that deeply questions the social, environmental and human issuesinthesetimesofchange.
UTAMA is ultimately a story about one of the most underrepresented places on

The characters of Virginio and Sisa, with all the wisdom gained through their years, represents a culture that has seen its younger generations lose their language and beliefs as they assimilate with an increasingly globalized world. The Quechua culture, its views on death, life and nature, is one we know very well in La Paz,butitisdisappearing.
UTAMA is also a love story. The intimacy of Virginio and Sisa’s relationship can be felt through the minimal gestures between them and the silences that dominate them – silences that can develop in decades-long relationships. Regardless of the cultural differences between these characters and the audience, I wanted to showtheirloveasauniversalforce.
Aesthetically, I come from the world of still photography and I am interested in working in the intersections of image and silence, where the most profound meanings are found: loss, acculturation and
seems like a tragedy, I want the film to bringhope.

Fried Rice is a Chinese specialty. Over time, this delicious dish has made its way to many different countries and been reinvented with local ingredients. For example, this Kale and Kimchi “Fried” Rice is based on Korean Cuisine and can be made in less than 5 minutes using Minute Jasmine Rice & Red Quinoa Cups, which combine the buttery taste and aromatic scent of authentic Jasmine Rice with crunchy, 100% Whole-Grain Red Quinoa in a convenient, pre-portioned cup.
Much like other cuisines around the world, Middle Eastern cooking uses rice almost every day. A Turkish and Arab mixed dish, Shawarma is now a global street food.Traditional Persian Rice uses a variety of spices likeTurmeric, Ginger and Cardamomwithdriedfruitsandnuts.
Latin American recipes vary from country to country and region to region, but rice is essential on the side or as part of the main dish across the board. A quick and easy morning meal, this Mexican Breakfast Scramble is ready in 4 minutes. Aiding the short prep time, Minute Jalapeño Rice Cups are ready in just 1 minute and can help spice up dishes with a tasty blend of Onion, Green Peppers and Jalapeños.
With bold flavors, few things say southern comfort quite like Louisiana cooking, the spices and ingredients are truly one of a kind. Caregivers and loved ones should be aware of age-appropriate care for Heart Attack or chest pain
As the proportion of older adults in the U.S. continues to increase, appropriate care for older people becomes increasingly important. In fact, care givers and loved ones should be aware of ageappropriate care for Heart Attack or chest pain.
The first step is to call 911. Once medical care is started, agerelated changes in gen eral health and in the heart and blood vessels require consideration and likely modifications in how people aged 75 and older are treated, according to a scientific statement from the American Heart Association, published in its flagship, peerreviewed journal “Circulation.”
The statement, “Management Of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) in the older adult population,” highlights evidence to help cli nicians better care for older patients. According to the state ment, 30-40% of people hospitalized with ACS, which includes Heart Attack and unstable Angina (heart-related chest pain) are ages75orolder.
“Older patients have more pronounced anatomical changes and more severe functional impairment and they are more likely to have additional health conditions not related to Heart Disease,” said Abdulla A. Damluji, M.D., Ph.D., FAHA,
chair of the scientific statement writing committee, Director of The Inova Center Of Outcomes Research and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins School Of Medicine.
“These include frailty, other chronic disorders (treated with multiple medications), physical

Often, quoted rates are “per person, based on double occupancy.” This is because travel hosts know they can make more from a couple traveling than an individual. You can avoid paying a single supplement premium by being willing to match with a roommate or traveling with a Tour Company or Cruise Line with FREE or low-cost singlesupplementfees.
As an affordable and convenient way to get cash, you can avoid wasting time in line at a Bank or Currency Exchange Bureau by visiting an ATM. While you’ll likely incur a fee for using an ATM that’s not part of your bank, it is often less than the commission you’d pay at an Exchange Bureau. Plus, you can avoid additional fees by calculating how much you’ll need for the trip and making one withdrawal as opposed to multiple smaller withdrawals.

Surprise Powerz, providers of educational talking STEM dolls that make it easy for girls to build confidence in critical subjects like math and science, today announced that their 16inch dolls are available for sale at Macy’s Aventura in Florida at 19535 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180. March is a crucial month for women and girlsWomen’s History Month, Expanding Girls’ Horizons in Science and Engineering Month, and March 14th being Science Education Day. Surprise Powerz dolls inspire young girls to build curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, andconfidence.
A recent study found that by third grade, most children believe boys are more interested in computer science and engineering than girls. Furthermore, the study notes, “the more that individual girls endorse genderinterest stereotypes favoring boys in computer science and engineering, the lower their interest and sense of belonging in these fields.” This results in young girls being systematically tracked away from Science,Tech, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in schools - limiting their future opportunities. Women make up only28%oftheSTEMworkforce.
Surprise Powerz’ educational talking STEM dolls make it easy for girls to gain confidence in the
critical subjects of math, science, and more. The dolls, created for toddlers and preschoolers ages two to five, encourage counting, STEM vocabulary, problemsolving, and healthy imaginative pretend to play. The dolls: Astro the Astronaut, Vera the Vet, Maria the Mathmagician, and Codie the Coder were conceived to spark curiosity and engage kids in the world of STEM while helping them reach developmentalmilestones.
Each time the doll’s hand is squeezed, she can deliver one of 75 phrases, singalongs, and sound effects - all of which encourage playing and learning. The toys also feature a diverse range of real girls’ voices to reflect ethnicity and create an authentic experience - with Maria, the Mathmagician speaking both English and some Spanish. “This is a great time to celebrate the future breakthroughs that our toddler and preschool girls are capable of. It’s also a great time to empower our young girls to know they can be anything they put their minds to, and one day they can change this world to be a better place,” saidSurprisePowerz
Founder Kristel Bell. “Like most women today, the girl toys available when I was a kid were for playing princess or mommy. As an adult, I was surprised that
girls’ toys hadn’t changed much. Boys’ toys, in contrast, were already teaching critical skills in serious subjects like science, technology, engineering, and math. So it’s no surprise that many girls lose confidence in thosesubjectsasearlyasnine.”
Noting this imbalance fueled Bell to create her line of toys to equip girls with critical skills like curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. Bell founded Surprise Powerz because she believes in empowering girls and understands that girls need dolls that look and sound like them to instill confidence and facilitate STEMlearningfromanearlyage.
“As a professor who focuses on early science, math, and engineering in the early childhood classroom, I can state without hesitation that the Surprise Powerz Stem Dolls are a wonderful addition to the STEM toysfor-kids market,” says Kathleen Sheridan, Ph.D. “The focus on empowering young girls to engage in science activities and careersislaudable.”
Our woman - and minorityowned small business is helping toddler and preschool girls know they can be anything they put their minds to! Here’s the problem: science, tech, engineering, and math (STEM) are the most
important topics in education today. However, many girls believe they are not good at math starting in preschool. That’s sad! We don’t want your little girl to feel this way in preschool. That’s why Surprise
Powerz was created. Our dolls look like her, talk like her, and nurture her early learning STEM imagination! From a vet to an astronaut, there’s no limit to your child’s potential! www. surprisepowerz.com
The dolls are available at Macy’s Aventura and Macys.com for $64.99. For more information, please visit: www.surprisepowerz.com, call: 313-467-4365, or email: media@surprisepowerz.com
