New Summer Judaic Course for Retired Women FREE and No Travel Necessary The Rivkah Davidow Summer Learning Program is a “women only,” mind-stimulating, 8 week course, for retirees and older adults, which just began but participants may join anytime throughout the series, since they are mostly standalone classes. Participants listen on Zoom or on a telephone from the comfort of their home four classes per week, Mondays thru Thursdays from 11:15 AM -12:15PM (ET.) This special program will allow women to engage in intellectually stimulating Torah classes taught by some of the most sought-after teachers from Jewish High schools and seminaries. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy lectures that place much emphasis on depth and analytical insights and of course some great interactive discussions. Zumba & Yoga in the Park Are A Hit The City of Aventura started offering complimentary Zumba Classes to Aventura Residents of all ages beginning in March and has been a huge success. The new Zumba Program includes a Certified Zumba Instructor teaching this fun Fitness Class involving Aerobic Movement and Latin Dance. If Yoga is more your thing, the popular series of complimentary Yoga Classes at Founders Park is still happening for Yogis of all skill levels to enjoy. The duration of the class is approximately one hour, classes start at 9:00 a.m. every Friday. Students must bring their own Yoga Mats, a small towel and water for convenience. Summer Theater Camp Returns The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Performance Project School of the Arts, welcome you to register your child for the 2022 Aventura Arts & Culture Center Summer Theater Camp. Not long ago, Moms and Dads were in a frenzy, scrambling around parking lots and lining up in chain stores during the holidays to purchase the latest gadgets and gifts for their children. Then spring arrived, accompanied by a renewed sense of focus on homework, carpooling, bake sales, and extracurricular activities. In unbelievable fashion, parents are now faced with the emergence of summer and challenged with some grappling decisions of where to leave their children while they work. Aventura schools have closed so now it’s time to make way for the sleepy summer season, which local Summer Camp Programs are available for swift enrollment? With well-established values of health, wellness, and education permeating the City, most Aventura parents remain concerned about the safety and wellbeing of their children during the summer months. Hallandale City Center This Vision Has Been Long In The Making

The “Northwest Section ‘’ of Hallandale Beach as it’s known by locals is defined as North of Hallandale Beach Boulevard and West of Dixie Highway. Over the decades, the area has gone through many changes and had many visions for its future. One of these visions has been in the works with the consistent dedication of the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA), along with City Officials and Staff. On Thursday, June 9th, 2022 the fruits of all this labor came to fruition with the Official “Groundbreaking Ceremony” held at the site, across from City of Hallandale Beach Fire Station 7. Directly across the street from the station is the development site of Hallandale City Center, sitting at the Northwestern corner of Foster Road and West Dixie Highway. Penas, worked tirelessly on the Project and in coordination with the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA) and City Staff. “Hallandale City Center LLC aims to bring to the City of Hallandale Beach a leading worldwide approach to Affordable Housing Production commonly known as the ‘Vienna Model,” she said. “Unlike Traditional Affordable Housing Development Models, where construction costs are the main priority, the Vienna Model has Four Equally Essential Pillars: Architectural Quality, Environmental Considerations, Social Sustainability and Economic Costs.” “This has resulted in beautiful, yet Affordable Housing
Projects that are assets to the Public Realm.” The cost of construction is approximately $17 Million and will bring together State-Of-TheArt Architectural Design, Environmental Sustainability, Landscape Design and will shift significant commercial activity of Hallandale Beach West of the waterfront. This Mixed-Use Development is an integral part of the HBCRA’s Redevelopment Plan for the City of Hallandale Beach. It will help to geographically link several Integral Redevelopment Projects: The Food, Fashion, Art and Design District (FFADD) to the southeast, Artsquare to the East, Atlantic Village to the Northeast and eventually future
Redevelopments for the Big Easy Casino Property to the North. “The vision for Hallandale City Center has been long in the making,” says City Manager and Executive Director of the HBCRA, Dr. Jeremy Earle. “Economic Development is a step-bystep process involving an integrated approach to Site selection, Transportation and determining the best Commercial Uses for the future of our City.” The HBCRA believes that Hallandale City Center will greatly enhance the emerging dynamics of the City by attracting a variety of residents from families to professionals and will also be an appealing Housing Alternative for current residents.
