Miracle 2: Now you can have a beautiful smile with invisible braces within six months to a year, without a metal mouth. The invisible braces are a set of aligners which you change every two weeks. Apart from teens, adults are perfect candidates for invisible braces. No messy and awkward metal brackets and wires, less frequent visits, usually 6 to 8 weeks and Brush and floss as usual.
Miracle 6: Have you been putting off going to the dentist because of fear. No fear anymore; with sedation dentistry, you can have a lot more dentistry done in a few long appointments without any anxiety or pain.

Hippocrates Health Institute’s 12th Annual RAW FEST welcomes Hemp & Heal in to their family
The 12th Annual RAW FEST on March 24 at the world-famous and well respected Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach put the spotlight on Hemp & Heal - as hundreds of vendors attracted plenty of people.
APRIL 2018 • AVENTURA DIGEST • PG 8
The success that Hemp & Heal has enjoyed over the past year has been amazing. But recently, Jonah Bolt and his progressive company moved to the next level. Bolt, the owner and president of the company, who found out firsthand what hemp can do for all of us - especially his own family - attended The 12th Annual RAW FEST on March 24 at the worldfamous and well respected Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach. This year’s theme was Rawnaissance, as men wore their best renaissance themed attire. The event celebrated health and wellness with kids activities, wellness lectures, live music, door prizes, raw vegan food and more! It certainly put Bolt and his company in the spotlight. Through Hemp & Heal, a superior product line has been developed - and at events such as the one held in West Palm Beach - plenty of questions and answers surrounded the products. As many already know, Hemp is one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. It has been used for paper, textiles, and cordage for thousands of years. Known for its Life Transformation Program, which offers a whole body approach to wellness that includes services and therapies for a complete health
transformation experience, Hippocrates Health Institute has long been a place where mind, body and spirit are indeed the main concerns. “I cannot tell you what an honor it was to be invited, the only company that does what we do,” Bolt pointed out. “To be included at an event where so many prestigious health industry leaders attended, and here we are front and center. Because of our research and many products that we produce, people are finding out about us all of the time.” Being at the event, with more than 100 vendors, Hemp & Heal’s credibility was boosted in a major way - on top of what they have already established. “It is such an amazing place to be - and instead of selling our products at the event like most who attended - we were given an opportunity to educate,” Bolt explained. “It was such a great day.” THE HIPPOCRATES STORY Hosting guests for over 60 years, who are passionate about overhauling their lifestyle and improving their overall health, this is a South Florida-based business that features its signature Life Transformation Program. At the cutting-edge in holistic wellness
technology and services, Hippocrates Health Institute features raw vegan organic meals, and daily classes are designed to help all of us learn and apply key health principles to our life when you leave. Priding itself on the fact that clients will see the transformation literally appear before their eyes - as the body begins to experience recovery to wholeness. Many guests stay more than three weeks in order to continue their healing process in the safe and supportive Hippocrates environment. At the center of this impressive group is Medical Director for Hippocrates Health Institute, Brian Clements, Ph.D., L.N., who grew up in the New Jersey/New York area, was raised in an Irish household on the standard American diet of meat, processed foods and sugary sodas, he was unfit. Clements became a vegetarian - nearly 50 years ago - at a time when it was not fashionable and eating meat, fish and chicken was the norm. After losing 120 pounds and feeling better than ever, he became a complete vegan - three years later and the change in his life was indeed significant. “I have always been open to everything
- as long as I did the research and explored the pluses and minuses,” Clements said. “That is how I began to believe in the positive properties of cannabis and hemp oils.” Clements had a huge head start - as far back as in the 1970’s, he saw firsthand in Europe for over 3 years what natural health can do. While much of the essential information was suppressed - his research discovered so many interesting finds. “I think one of the main factors in anything is education,” Clements pointed out. “The more you know about a subject, the better informed you will be.” In addition to the claims made, which are sometimes risky, Clements feels strongly that in the next 3-5 years, we will know exactly how to target treatments for cancer, pain and glaucoma. “The more research that is done and people see the benefits and of those products, we will be able to define what is medicinal,” he pointed out. “The one thing that many are turned off about is the stigma of getting high - and with no THC in the products - that will never be an issue. The addition of Dr. Joshua Helman has also been very valuable as well. “Dr. Josh” has two degrees in biochemistry, (bachelor’s from Harvard magna

He is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. At a time when many physicians are hesitant to stand behind many things, this progressive and well read member of the medical community embraces an integrative approach including the importance of diet and lifestyle for optimal health. “For the past 10 years, I have lived on a plant based diet and cannot begin to tell you the difference in my life,” said Dr. Helman. “What you put into your body will directly result in how you feel. It’s a fact that plays out every day.” Dr. Helman, who has worked at some of the most prestigious hospitals - being certified to practice in 13 states - is a huge advocate of what Bolt and Hemp & Heal does. His girlfriend, Heidi, who started to take the products noticed a difference in the way she felt after being on crutches, which is no surprise to Dr. Helman. In the time she has been taking the products -
(L)Educating those who attended was key - as Mike Abrams explains products to one of many who attended. (R) Director Brian Clements, Ph.D., L.N., left, Jonah Bolt, center, and Dr. Joshua Helman, right, at the 12th Annual Rawnaissance.
combined with a healthy diet - things have been improving.” “The reason why Hemp & Heal products does so well is based on a number of reasons,” Dr. Helman pointed out. “First of all is using the whole plant - or as Jonah calls it: ‘Full Spectrum’ - is the answer. It’s like olives. If you eat the entire olive, it is good for you, but extract the oil and it isn’t - no matter what people tell you. That is the principle behind the products.” What attracted Dr. Helman to
Hippocrates Health Institute was the approach to treating such things as Heart Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Lyme Disease, Chronic Pain, High Cholesterol, Cancer, Skin Conditions, Arthritis, Autoimmune Disease, Weight Loss, Diabetes and much more. “I came down here just a few months ago, and have been blown away by what they have done here for such an extended period of time,” Dr. Helman said. “You see so many different patients who are part of this program for various reasons.”

Harvest Reapers Outreach Support Ministry Providing New Local Assistance Program for Single Parent Households
Harvest Reapers Outreach Support Ministry Is Set To Launch This New assistance program on Saturday, May 12 at Piccadilly Cafeteria in Hollywood Hollywood - The numbers are staggering and the reality of being a single parent in a world filled with many obstacles along the way can be daunting - to even the toughest and most determined. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, while the majority of America’s 73.7 million children, under age 18, live in families with two parents, the second most common family arrangement is children living with a single parent, more than 80% of which were headed by single mothers. Those numbers are indeed alarming - where single parent households, headed by mothers, a major portion were jobless the entire year and many were food
insecure. Enter Harvest Reapers Ministry - where Senior Pastor Dorothy Roberts and her husband Scott Roberts have been digging down deep for finances, helping thousands with everything possible and plenty of prayer for nearly three decades. “You look at those statistics and they are real - and we face them every day,” Dorothy explained. “We see these single parents that need and we can assist. Many are too proud - and they are the ones we can make their lives much easier.” Harvest Reapers Ministry is offering some much needed relief to those in need. From grocery assistance, in conjunction with Feeding South
Florida, to clothing assistance and counseling, they have been here to make an impact and help those who need it the most. “We’re happy to help others in our community - in any way possible.” Dorothy pointed out. “We are here to make a difference in someone’s life - for the better. We always continue to look for ways to positively impact our brothers and sisters, neighbors and friends.” “As a mother and grandmother offering assistance to families in need, warms my heart,” Dorothy added. Her husband, Scott, cofounder of Harvest Reapers Ministry, has been a huge part of offering grocery assistance for 29 years - and is equally as excited
for the newly created single parents program, assisting those who may be quietly struggling. A statistic that is now reality here in 2018 - is that once largely limited to poor women and minorities, motherhood without marriage has settled deeply into middle America. The fastest growth in the last two decades has occurred among women in their 20s who have some college education but no four-year degree. Throughout history, marriage and parenthood have been linked milestones on the journey to adulthood. But for the young adults of the Millennial Generation, these social institutions are becoming delinked and differently valued. Today’s
18- to 29-year-olds value parenthood far more than marriage. ABOUT HARVEST REAPERS OUTREACH Feeding the hungry, the impoverished, the unemployed and the ill is what Harvest Reapers Outreach has always been about. Their feeding programs help strengthen the faith of their volunteers as well as those who receive the meals they provide. As Dorothy and Scott will both tell you, their faith brought them to start this organization. Together, they understand that they can give help at a much larger scale. Those little acts of

We hope that tomorrow, they will find the courage to stand up, get their act together and find work – so that in the future, they will be one of our volunteers. This is how we feed faith, making it stronger for those who are being fed and those who do the feeding.” SIGNATURE EVENT MAY 12TH Harvest Reapers Outreach Support Ministry is set to launch this tremendous assistance program on Saturday, May 12 one day before Mother’s Day. It is indeed a fitting date given the statistics that single parent households are led primarily by single mothers, however, single parent

fathers are also welcome to Piccadilly Cafeteria (4500 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, FL 33021) at 8:30 a.m. for an all you care to eat event. “This is a great time for all to come together,” Dorothy said. “Those who need the assistance and those who would like to step up and contribute to this single parent program. We already showed you the statistics - which are certainly alarming, to say the least.” They are looking for warehouse space to store the food and other donated items. Everything helps. Miami has daringly created a new work inspired by probably the best Old Testament example of this in their “The Book of Psalms,” which will have its World Premiere as part of their evening of work called “Contemporanea 2018.” It is choreographed by company Artistic Directors Hannah Baumgarten and Diego Salterini and is a contemporary dance journey through the hopes, joys, loyalties, sorrows, doubts and aspirations of the human heart. The evening also includes,”Touch Me” a reconstruction of the choreographer Gerald Arpino’s moving solo, danced to a crackling gospel score, originally created for the Joffrey Ballet in 1977; “XY The Engine of Life,” choreographed by Salterini, a striking duet with a man and a woman who are at once spiraling DNA strands and flesh and blood people; and “Here On Earth,” with choreography by Baumgarten, with music from Alexandre Desplat, the Books and Gil Scott Heron.

Give Your Brain Waves A Workout Successful CEOs and entrepreneurs, as well as ambitious middle managers, often seek ways to keep their mental faculties sharp to stay ahead of their competition. But training your brain to perform at peak levels isn’t easy. And that’s why some executives are turning to neurofeedback sessions – a kind of biofeedback for the brain – to improve their mind’s executive function and performance. “Improved health and mental focus can help you balance the stressors of daily living while keeping you headed toward your goals,” says Dr. Ed Carlton, founder of the Carlton Neurofeedback Center (www.carltonneurofeedbackcent er.com) and author of the book The Answer. “For example, for people who are seeking a promotion or a career shift, or planning to start their own business, neurofeedback training can help improve their executive function and their performance.”
Inspirational speaker Tony Robbins is a fan of neurofeedback training. So is Olympic beach volleyball champion Kerri Walsh-Jennings. Carlton refers to neurofeedback as “fitness training for the brain,” which is perhaps why it’s appealing even to Olympic athletes. Here’s how it works: The process begins with a brain map, which locates the specific areas that need help to function more efficiently. Once these areas are identified, neurofeedback training can improve their function. The technology uses computers to monitor brain-wave patterns while the patient relaxes and watches a movie or video. The visual and audio inputs are varied, providing feedback based on the training goals from the brain map. The results are lasting and there are no side effects, Carlton says. While neurofeedback can be used to improve executive function, it’s also used to treat ADD and ADHD, depression, autism,
seizures, traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic-stress disorder. Carlton says there are a few important facts business executives should know if they’re interested in the benefits of neurofeedback training: Why the brain’s executive function is important. Executive function refers to the complex neurological processes in the brain’s frontal lobe that help you plan, manage time and get organized. “This is where we learn to keep details in our head, come up with different ways to solve problems, and start and complete tasks,” Carlton says. This requires a complex set of skills such as being able to pay attention, self-monitor and regulate emotions. How neurofeedback training helps. Neurofeedback can help you regain your focus and reduce mental clutter that can impact memory and organization. “After patients start the training regimen, many of them tell us the first thing they notice
right away is that their quality of sleep improves,” Carlton says. “As training continues, performance improvements follow.” Professional development as self-care. Neurofeedback training doesn’t alter your personality or change who you are, Carlton says. “It’s simply a training gym of sorts to help your brain make new connections that keep it in balance, which helps better regulate emotional states, improves attention and focus, and enhances working memory,” he says. “For anyone in business,

all of these skills are keys to improving your performance edge, helping you break out of patterns or start new ones, and sharpening your cognitive performance over time.” The weekly neurofeedback sessions take about half an hour and are painless and noninvasive, Carlton says. Getting The Most Out of The Summer Ahead By Larry Blustein - Aventura Digest
APRIL 2018 • AVENTURA DIGEST • PG 22
Ali Corwin and her husband have a busy schedule - working throughout the week. But they also have three children, and planning for the summer is never an easy thing to do. While the calendar says April - the months of June, July and August - are really not far away at all, and if you happen to be a parent, they are closer than you think. “We both work and stay busy, but the fact remains is we are a family - and having three children - ranging in age from 914 - keeps us thinking,” Corwin said. “They have a need to stay busy during the summer. We do not want them sitting home and hanging with their friends. That is not even an option.” Because many families are looking to save a few dollars during the summer, sending their kids to a camp is perhaps the best value possible. The City of Aventura, which always finds events to keep all of its residents busy, has opened up Summer Camp Registration, and residents are making it a priority to take full advantage. Matty Rojas is going to waste no time in getting her children registered for the summer camp. She did it last year - and the children loved it and have been talking about the experience all year. “Even though I was a stay at home mom the past 11 years, I have always sent the children somewhere,” Rojas said. “It just seemed like they had so much fun last year - so we decided to come back - and it is minutes from our home.”
Campers ages 5-14 have the opportunity to spend the summer participating in a variety of fun onsite activities, field trips, playing outdoor/indoor games, and making new friends. It is indeed something that is needed for the growth and the many memories that come out of summer experiences. Sunny Isles Beach resident Michael Light is one of those who has fond memories of his summers, growing up in New York. He wanted his children to have that same experience - by attending local camps or events. “When we were younger, we combined our local summer camp with things that we did in our community,” Light recalled. “From swimming at the local pool - to playing ball and going to movies - those were the memories that we had.” As youngsters of today still create memories on their own - to talk about for generations to come - summer camp has once again become the thing to do. The City of Aventura Community Services Department will be operating camps at the Community Recreation Center located at 3375 NE 188 Street, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The following camp programs are offered: Summer Camp (Ages 5-14): Campers enjoy arts & crafts, games, sports, special events, field trips, and swimming (for select ages). June 11 - August 17 ($170).
Sports Camp (Ages 7-14): Campers choose a sport to participate in such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, or cheerleading/dance. June 11 - August 10 ($203). Art Camp (Ages 5-13): Campers learn about artists, media and techniques through art history and multicultural appreciation in a fun and educational environment. June 11 – June 29 July 9 – July 27 ($235). Travel Camp (Ages 10-14): Campers participate in daily field trips to local attractions as well as swimming, games, arts & crafts, and special events. June 11 - August 10 ($250). HEALTH New Study: Changed Lifestyles Are Hampering Our Weight-Loss Efforts (BPT) - If you’ve ever tried to lose weight, you probably know it can seem like an overwhelming task. In fact, a recent survey conducted by The Harris Poll indicates losing weight is harder than ever before, and that today’s busy modern lifestyle is a key reason why. But, don’t lose hope. Results also suggest that taking a new approach to weight loss can help, and that you can increase your chances for reaching and maintaining your weight-loss goals by getting a clear picture of the factors holding you back, and establishing a plan compatible with your lifestyle. “The Truth About Weight Loss” survey was conducted online by The Harris Poll in October/November 2017 on behalf of Zaluvida, the makers of I-REMOVE (R), and included nearly 1,000 health care professionals [458 primary care physicians (PCPs) and 503 pharmacists], and more than 1,000 U.S. adults ages 18 and over. So, what are our roadblocks? The survey paints a picture of U.S. adults who are discouraged when it comes to weight loss, and some of the key reasons why.
Among its findings: • 77 percent of PCPs and 81 percent of pharmacists say losing weight is harder today than it was for previous generations because of the busy, modern lifestyle of Americans. • Too much screen time (i.e., time spent on computers, tablets and mobile phones) has resulted in Americans leading less-active lifestyles, according to 95 percent of PCPs and 97 percent of pharmacists. • Lack of time is taking a toll as well. 97 percent to 98 percent of PCPs and pharmacists are concerned that Americans are not taking time to plan healthy meals which will negatively impact their weight and their family’s weight. The result of all this? Widespread frustration. While 41 percent of Americans are now attempting to lose weight, only 29 percent of them are confident they’ll achieve their current weight-loss goals. Fifty-nine percent of them say they’re frustrated by previous attempts to lose weight - typically, they’ve tried to slim down a substantial five times in the past five years.
What’s needed? A sustainable plan, and more weight-loss options. At least 89 percent of health care professionals surveyed say Americans need to take a new approach to weight loss that fits with today’s modern lifestyle. Instead of embarking blindly on a goal to lose weight, they say people should develop a plan that accounts for their potential stumbling blocks - most advise that your plan should be sustainable (79 percent of PCPs and 69 percent of pharmacists), not be time-consuming (56 percent of PCPs and 55 percent of pharmacists), and not require sudden or major shifts to your daily routine (54 percent of PCPs and 53 percent of pharmacists). You may also want to consider new options; at least 84 percent of PCPs and pharmacists say they wish they had more weight-loss options for people who are overweight but not yet obese, and 63 percent of PCPs and 60 percent of pharmacists agree that a weight-loss product/aid that fits into one’s lifestyle without unpleasant side effects would make it easier for their patients to lose weight.
One such product that’s now available in the U.S. is I-REMOVE, a weight-loss aid aimed at helping people lose weight and achieve healthier lifestyles they can sustain long-term. As the No. 1 bestselling weight-loss formula in Europe, IREMOVE is clinically tested and shown to help with weight loss and maintenance, and can deliver up to three times the weight loss of dieting alone. Sold in the U.S. it is available nationwide at Walgreens and other retailers. Consult with your health care professional before embarking on any weight-loss plan. For more survey results, visit www.weightlossfindings.com. About the National Survey “The Truth about Weight Loss” The survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Zaluvida between October 13 and November 6, 2017. The consumer arm of the survey included a total of 1,005 U.S. adults ages 18+, of whom, 713 are currently trying (n=429) or have ever tried (n=284) to lose weight. The professional arm of the survey included 961 U.S. adults ages 18+ who are primary care physicians (n=458) or pharmacists (n=503). For complete research methods, including weighting variables and subgroup sample sizes, contact press@i-remove.com.

REAL ESTATE Marrying households: 3 savvy moving tips for newlyweds (BPT) - If you’re planning a wedding or you’ve just tied the knot, congratulations! Getting ready to start the next chapter of your life with the one you love can be an exciting time, filled with anticipation about your future together. That said, combining two households can take considerable planning and preparation, especially if both parties own troves of treasured possessions. As you are getting ready to make the transition into a single house or apartment, consider how the following suggestions may make your move
easier. • Pare down possessions. After unwrapping your wedding gifts, take an objective look at your collective furniture, household goods, clothing and other items. Where do you see duplicates? Whose décor are you more likely to use? Are those old clothes you’ve had since high school really worth keeping? Now is the time to be generous in donating unneeded items to a local charity (or selling them on Craigslist). • Nix the shopping blitz. Although those wedding checks and gift cards are burning a hole in your pocket,

REAL ESTATE 3 Ways The Facebook Data Breach Provides Lessons For Other Businesses The tale of how Facebook exposed the data of 50 million users to a Cambridge Analytica researcher may shine a light on how business ethics and regulatory compliance issues are struggling to keep up with fastmoving technological advances. It also shows that the more things change the more they stay the same when it comes to organizations that focus on commercial success without equal attention to governance and corporate responsibility, says Beth Haddock (www.bethhad dock.com), author of Triple Bottom-Line Compliance: How to Deliver Protection, Productivity and Impact. “We often see gaps in business judgment when companies are managing a crisis of trust by its customers
and the public at large,” says Haddock, who is also CEO of Warburton Advisers, a consulting firm that advises companies on compliance and ethical issues particularly when there’s a crisis. The data breach happened a few years ago when 270,000 Facebook users took a personality quiz through an app that, without their knowledge, allowed the quiz maker to take their private information. The app maker was then able to access the data of those people’s Facebook friends, and provided the information to Cambridge Analytica, a data-analysis firm. Now regulators in both the United Kingdom and the U.S. are asking for information about what Facebook knew and how it reacted after discovering the breach.
The case does indeed raise questions and lessons for other businesses, Haddock says. Such as: Self-interest over obligation to consumers. Companies should not ignore their responsibilities to customers, Haddock says, but there’s an indication in this case that greater emphasis was placed on self-interest. For example, Facebook used a newspaper advertisement to try to mitigate the company’s legal liabilities, but didn’t address corporate responsibility. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg posted a timeline of events, but didn’t mention a 2011 settlement with the Federal Trade Commission that involved deceiving users about privacy protections. Finally,
Facebook’s Code of Conduct says employees must represent the “best interests of the company,” but makes no mention of corporate responsibility to customers. “That’s an interesting foundation for a culture of 10,000 employees with access to powerful personal information,” Haddock says. “Imagine a Wall Street firm or a doctor whose code of conduct is solely self-interested, and what’s best for the investor or the patient isn’t considered.” Haddock says this arguably is an example of “fudge-factor thinking,” where people find ways to
justify in their own minds questionable ethical decisions, and it’s something businesses need to be wary of. Compliance and governance. Haddock says it will be interesting to watch how Facebook’s compliance and governance program withstands scrutiny, especially against public statements that shareholders relied upon to invest in this public company. “This is a good reminder to other companies,” she says. “Assess whether your governance is built on a foundation of fudge-factor thinking. If it is, make changes before
there is a foreseeable surprise that results from poor business judgment.” The data breach itself. This may serve as a cautionary tale for other American companies because regulatory agencies both at home and abroad could come down on them hard if they aren’t vigilant about protecting user data. Innovation is prized in the U.S. But when it comes to breaches of trust and information, Haddock says, caveat emptor may be a faulty premise for U.S. technology companies going forward.
