Caught between pride and passion, Diana sets off a clever and dangerous game of manipulation, in which words become weapons and love becomes a contest of control. In her debut book, “A Journey Through Life” (published by Balboa Press), Stephanie Sivadge delivers a heartfelt message of hope, reminding readers that every person’s story matters, every journey has value, and meaningful transformation is possible for anyone willing to learn and grow. The inspiration behind the book began when Sivadge retired after a successful 38year career as a cosmetologist. Unsure
and self-discovery. Each chapter concludes with thoughtful questions designed to help readers examine their own beliefs, choices, and life experiences while encouraging intentional steps toward lasting change. The central message is simple: life’s journey is rarely easy, but growth is possible for those willing to learn, adapt, and move forward. Sivadge’s wish is that readers will leave the book believing they are capable of creating a more joyful, peaceful and purposeful life — and then use their own experiences to encourage others. “I completely changed myself and some of my not-so-great personality traits. If I can do it, anyone can,” the author states. “A Journey Through Life” By Stephanie Sivadge Hardcover | 6 x 9in | 168 pages | ISBN 9798765270714 Softcover | 6 x 9in | 168 pages | ISBN 9798765270721 E-Book | 168 pages | ISBN 9798765270707 Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Protect Your Heart And Brain By Knowing The Signs And Symptoms Of AFib (Feature Impact)
SEPTEMBER 2026 • AVENTURA DIGEST • PG 16
Here are a lot of things that can make your heart flutter, race or skip a beat. In a figurative sense, it could be a smile from a loved one, a jump scare in a movie or the moment the roller coaster car tips over the top of the hill. In a much more literal sense, an irregular heartbeat might mean you’re experiencing Atrial Fibrillation, or AFib. Symptoms of AFib aren’t always as obvious as those adrenaline-inducing moments. In fact, according to research from the American Heart Association, 62% of people with AFib had no prior knowledge of the condition before being diagnosed. Since AFib can increase your chances of having a Stroke by up to five times, educating yourself early could be a powerful way to protect your long-term health. AFib is a type of Arrhythmia, or Heart Rhythm Disorder, that happens when your heart’s electrical signals fire abnormally, causing an irregular heartbeat. More than 10 million people in the U.S. live with AFib, so if you’re one of them, there are plenty of ways to find connec-
tion, support and resources to help. “It’s important for people to understand their risk factors, recognize potential symptoms and have regular conversations with their healthcare professional,” said Dr. Javier Sanchez, HCA Healthcare Cardiac Electrophysiologist. “Early detection and proactive management can make a life-saving difference.” This expert information can help you understand what to look for and what steps to take if you or a loved one are living with AFib. Common Symptoms Although AFib doesn’t always cause noticeable symptoms, knowing the signs can help you protect your health. AFib can feel like a fluttering feeling in your chest, a pounding heart or skipped heartbeats. Some people also feel fatigued, dizzy or short of breath. Symptoms can come and go, and they may range from mild to more severe. Experiencing any sort of heart symptom can be scary and overwhelming but try to stay calm and pay attention to the feeling so you can describe it to your doctor.
Risk Factors Anyone can develop AFib, but certain factors make it more or less likely. Some risk factors for Arrhythmia - like getting older or having it in your family history are unavoidable. Others, like smoking, drinking alcohol or living with uncontrolled High Blood Pressure, put the power in your hands to make risk-reducing changes. People with Diabetes, Obesity, Sleep Apnea or other heart conditions are also more likely to experience AFib. The Connection Between AFib and Stroke When the heart beats irregularly, it means blood can’t move through the heart efficiently. That can cause blood clots, which in turn may block blood flow to the brain and lead to a Stroke. Although Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in the U.S., it is largely preventable and treatable. Even someone who has already had a Stroke can recover, manage their condition and put themselves on the road to better health. Diagnosing AFib Catching AFib early can make a mean-
ingful difference, so even if you haven’t experienced any glaring symptoms, it’s wise to communicate with your doctor about your risk factors and concerns. Your healthcare team may run tests to confirm a diagnosis and recommend the best course of action for you. Treatment Options Depending on the stage of your AFib, your doctor might suggest medication, surgical or non-surgical procedures or lifestyle changes such as the American Heart Association’s Life’s Essential 8 to support your Heart Health. Staying physically active, quitting tobacco, maintaining a healthy weight and controlling your Blood Pressure, among other steps, can help you manage Heart Conditions and reduce your future risk of Stroke. Remember: Prevention is the best cure, so even if you haven’t received an Arrhythmia diagnosis, you can start working toward these healthier habits. Gen Z Is Least Likely To Believe Cancer Can Be Prevented. Many Don’t Know Basic Screenings Exist. (Sheeka Sanahori) Gen Z adults are at the stage when lifelong habits start to take shape. They’re launching careers, reflecting on their values, and building relationships and routines. They’re also navigating messages about beauty standards that sometimes oppose the needs of their long-term health. Case in point: the “tanmaxxing” trend found on Social Media. “Ain’t no way I’m letting my job stop me from soaking in the 8 UV,” one Instagram user wrote while tanning from a car with the convertible roof down. The video is one of hundreds by “tanfluencers” documenting the ways they take tanning to the extreme, including skipping sunscreen or tanning in the middle of the day, when the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays are at their most harmful. This risky trend is one example of a growing generational gap in beliefs about Cancer Prevention. According to the 2026 Early Detection Survey from the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Gen Z adults (ages 21-29) are less likely than their parents and grandparents to fully consider that Cancer Risk can be reduced through prevention and early detection.
SEPTEMBER 2026 • AVENTURA DIGEST • PG 18
Gen Z faces a Cancer Prevention Awareness Gap Across every generation, most adults believe Cancer Risk can be reduced, but Gen Z is the least convinced. While 73% of Baby Boomers agree, only 64% of Gen Z adults do. That same pattern continues when focusing specifically on Skin Cancer. Nearly half of Gen Z respondents believe sunscreen and sun-protective clothing can help reduce their Skin Cancer Risk, compared to 53% of Millennials and 64% of Gen X. Only 37% of Gen Z respondents have had a routine medical appointment or Cancer Screening in the last year, the lowest of any generation. Although certain Cancer Screenings, including Breast and Colorectal Cancer, begin in middle age, some are also recommended

for young adults. Cervical Cancer is highly preventable, with screening beginning for people with a Cervix and of average risk at the age of 21. Forty-six percent of Gen Z adults who are eligible said they were not up to date. Systemic barriers prevent healthier lifestyles For some Gen Z adults, the health care system itself is part of the problem. Nearly a third report experiencing discrimination or bias from a health care provider, and 44% believe the system prioritizes profit over patient care. Those experiences could be enough to make someone skip a future health appointment. The most common barrier for Gen Z isn’t what you might expect. Three in 5 respondents say they simply lack motivation, a higher rate than Millennials or Gen X. Among the three youngest surveyed generations, Gen Z is the only group that doesn’t rank cost as its primary
obstacle. The bigger challenge is making preventive care feel urgent and relevant now. Better communication and education could help more get screened Data suggests that practical guidance and clearer communication could make a difference. More than half of Gen Z adults say having a provider to help them navigate the system would increase trust in health care and make it easier for them to get their recommended Cancer Screenings. Affordable, predictable costs would help 52% of respondents. Sixty-five percent of Gen Z adults say they’re motivated to schedule Cancer Screenings because they want to live a long, healthy life. Colorectal Cancer is now the leading cause of Cancer Death in people under 50, and Skin Cancer is one of the most common Cancers in people younger than 30. The motivation is there.
Reaching them with the right information at the right time may be what it takes. Methodology The Prevent Cancer Foundation commissioned Atomik Research to conduct the Foundation’s 4th annual Pan-Cancer Early Detection Survey of U.S. adults ages 21 or older. The margin of error of the overall sample is +/- 1 percentage point with a confidence level of 95%. Fieldwork took place between January 10th and January 30th of 2026. The Cancer Screenings studied in this survey were for Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Lung Cancer, Oral Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Skin Cancer and Testicular Cancer.
