All players who live in Miami-Dade County between the ages of 5 and 14 are eligible. Putting Hallandale Beach residents to work is the goal of the Neighborhood Employability Enhancement Directive (NEED) program in the Human Services Department located at the Austin Hepburn Center, 750 NW 8th Avenue. A pilot program, NEED provides job coaching and guidance to help residents prepare for job interviews. The program is funded by the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency and, in some cases, provides temporary salary assistance when a local employer hires on a NEED graduate.
