Lorraine Johnson spends his spare time not only thinking about others, but doing for others. Johnson is Hallandale Beach’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Humanitarian of the Year recipient for 2013. Devoted to helping the homeless and those down and out, Mr. Johnson can be found volunteering his time collecting food to provide hot meals to those in need at the weekly Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church’s Wednesday luncheon. Honored at City Hall last week, Mr. Johnson was surrounded by his family when receiving the award from Mayor Joy Cooper.
