WELCOME TO THE SUNSHINE CATHEDRAL CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS!

The Sunshine Cathedral community recognizes the sacred value of all people and the special gift to the world that LGBTQ+ people are. Sunshine Cathedral (“a different kind of church”, #MyQueerChurch) is a non-doctrinal, inclusive spiritual community that affirms love, celebrates diversity, and wishes for every person to live with hope and joy. That’s why our community includes social and support groups, partnerships with various community and social services organizations, a program that combats food insecurity by feeding up to 800 families each week, and a dynamic Center for the Performing Arts that features quality entertainment for the LGBTQ+ community, often provided by LGBTQ+ artists, and the proceeds from the entertainment are used to serve the LGBTQ+ community.

We want people to enjoy soul enriching music, to experience life-enhancing laughter, and when needed, to experience healing, cathartic tears. The Arts provide these amazing miracles and so, without apology, we offer a world-class performing arts series at more than fair prices to bring the community together and offer them moments of affirmation, celebration, and encouragement.

We are very proud to offer the arts at Sunshine Cathedral via the Sunshine Cathedral Center for Performing Arts where community is the experience, joy is the message, and your presence is the prayer that sanctifies this space and the time we share together.

In addition to enjoying the arts at the Sunshine Cathedral Center for the Performing Arts, you are always welcome to our Sunday worship services at Sunshine Cathedral and you can find and interact with us on various social media and streaming venues. But if the Sunshine Cathedral Center for the Performing Arts is simply where you go for concerts, comics, cabarets, and the occasional film showing, then we are happy to offer that service to you and we look forward to sharing the arts with you for years to come.

CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE

Why does a Columbarium belong at the Sunshine Cathedral?

A consecrated memorial/resting place for departed loved ones and pets offers comfort to the bereaved.

It affirms our belief in the “cloud of witnesses”, the everlasting community of souls that dwell forever in divine Love as well as in our hearts.

It is a visible reminder that the Blessed Community cares for its members in life and beyond.

It offers a practical and convenient way to plan for one’s own interment thus relieving the surviving family and loved ones the burden of making difficult decisions.

It honors the departed in a way that is environmentally friendly.

Who Can purchase and use the niches?

While the columbarium is on the grounds of the Sunshine Cathedral and those who are active in the Sunshine Cathedral community and their loved ones are given preferential consideration for securing a niche, anyone who wishes to be interred at the Sunshine Cathedral Columbarium and Memorial Chapel may inquire about the possibility. Church membership or religious affiliation are not requirements for interment. The pastoral staff and governing bodies may determine eligibility, but it is our hope that people will make Sunshine Cathedral their spiritual home in life and their resting place beyond life.

These organizations come together to establish the Sunshine Pride House. This safe-haven center will provide shelter, counseling, education, and life skills to young LGBTQ+ adults who are experiencing housing and food insecurity.

The Sunshine Pride House is a six-bedroom, four-bathroom, 2,854-square-foot duplex accommodating up to 12 LGBTQ+ young adults.
