One of the most luxurious venues to see a live performance in downtown Las Vegas is The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, which regularly welcomes the best of Broadway, dance and music to its stages. Audiences can get into the holiday spirit this December when Nevada Ballet Theatre’s dazzling production of “The Nutcracker” dances back into Reynolds Hall for 12 performances Dec. 11-26. Then on New Year’s Eve, Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth (“Wicked”) will take the stage to pay tribute to such legendary female artists as Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire when she performs songs from her 2019 album, “For the Girls.” Two acclaimed Broadway musicals will also be stopping by Reynolds Hall this winter when “My Fair Lady” performs Jan. 25-30, 2022, and 10-time Tony

For those looking to laugh the night away, downtown Las Vegas recently welcomed the newest location of one of the most highly-respected comedy clubs in the nation. Located in a building in the Arts District with murals of Richard Pryor, Don Rickles and other celebrated comedians painted on it, Wiseguys routinely hosts some of the top names in comedy at its Utah clubs and plans to bring the same caliber of talent to its Vegas location. In fact, Pauly Shore performed at the intimate 150-seat club on its opening night! vegas.wiseguyscomedy.com

Audiences can also laugh until their sides hurt at “Hypnosis Unleashed.” One of downtown Las Vegas’ ongoing productions, the adults-only hypnosis show moved to Four Queens Hotel and Casino in July. While every performance is different based on the ticket holders who volunteer to star in the production, hypnotist Kevin Lepine recently updated some of the show’s material to give repeat guests more to enjoy. Not only are there hilarious new bits like making volunteers think they’re body builders or showgirls, but there’s also live music at the end of the show. vegashypnosisshow.com
