HE six patients, all women have made a formal complaint to the Medical College claiming sexual and psychological abuse, accusing Javier Criado of “lewd fondling and sex without consent” in both his office and his home. This abuse “has led to years of suffering, pain, fear of rejection, misunderstanding and embarrassment” claimed the alleged victims. WO Spanish police officers have rescued a weekold baby from a submerged rubbish container after a dog walker heard his cries for help. The unnamed man who notified the emergency services was passing a children’s play area in Mejorada del Campo, near Madrid, at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday when he heard the tot’s wails. All the women tell the same story and explain how he would lock the door after they entered his premises and were abused either on the sofa or the floor. Some of the affected women claim to have been hypnotized and all of them report there was no improvement in their underlying condition, despite him prescribing medicines. ‘He never made any diagnosis of the patient’s problem, never informed the patient and made no medical records’ it states.
ACTION A spokesman for the complainant, the lawyer Manuel Seco, confirmed that the facts have also been brought to the attention of the Archbishop of Sevilla, asking him to take action over the matter because the defendant is the head of an important brotherhood penance of Seville, - the Passion. They have called on the prelate, as the visible head of the Church in Sevilla, to adopt opportune measures against the senior brother and they indicate ‘it has been extraordinarily difficult to tell our children, parents or husbands of what we were going through’.
