Lifestyle Update
from June Sentinel 2023
by SunRiver HOA
Welcome to the warmer weather as we head into June. The first official day of summer is June 21st, but here in Southern Utah, we start feeling summer way before that date. Summer means grandkid visits, vacations, and time together with friends and family. The daylight hours are longer, which means more time for sports at the pavilion and delicious BBQ foods. It is also a great time to head up to Pine Valley for hikes in cooler temperatures and visit Brian Head Resort for its summer entertainment. The following are some fun facts about June. June’s birthstone is the pearl, the moonstone, and the alexandrite. The June birth flower is the rose and the honeysuckle. June is also a very popular name for girls in the US. In both common and leap years, no other month begins on the same day of the week as June. June is also International Men’s Month. In June, we celebrate Flag Day on June 14th and Father’s Day on June 18th. All of us from PMP would like to wish all the SunRiver St George fathers an incredibly happy Father’s Day! We hope you are recognized by your family this month for all you have done for them. This month the events team is putting together some specials at the window to help keep you cool - think sundaes, root beer floats, and parfaits. Don’t forget that ice cream arrives back on the Poolside Café menu this month, and we have reduced our prices! Stop by and enjoy some ice cream and the view from the east patio, or enjoy your treat from air-conditioned, fitness lobby tables.
Many of our neighbors and friends have left for their summer homes or are enjoying vacations around the globe. We will see less people in the facilities for the next few months, but that does not mean we will stop having fun! For a full list of our activities this month, see the calendar and the events list in this publication.

Here I will highlight just a few of the special events this month:
June 5th – We are celebrating National Egg Day
National Egg Day is on June 3rd, but we are celebrating it on the 5th. We are having a summer brunch at 11am. Enjoy a delicious brunch, and the best part is that you do not have to do any dishes!
June 9th – We are celebrating National Iced Tea Day
National Iced Tea Day is on June 10th, but we are celebrating it on the 9th. Come and buy-one-get-onefree at the Café.
HISTORY ON ICE (TEA, THAT IS!) ICED TEA
June 16th Is National Fudge Day Ryan will have a special treat for you at the Poolside Café. Please note that you can preorder dinners every Friday for the following week and for many of our special, national holiday treats you can pre-purchase your tickets, this way you can ensure your delicious dish is saved for you. Also, do not forget that you can enjoy the Indoor Pool and the East Patio while the Outdoor Pool is being constructed. The pool side’s doors will be open and there are lounge chairs and tables for your enjoyment. Please remember: if you pull a chair into the grass area, put the chair back on the cement before you leave. We want to protect the grass area as much as possible and we thank you in advance.
June 21st Is International Yoga Day

Come celebrate with us by joining a class! His monthly fitness seminar will be on the Great Outdoors on June 21st at 4pm. The monthly Computer Club seminar will be on June 13th at 4pm in the Computer Lab. It will cover the Samsung Health App.
