Safety

Creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment is our first and most important job here in the Sun Prairie Area School District Fire and severe weather drills are conducted at the Summer School sites in June and July The visitor management procedures are in place throughout Summer School Parents/caregivers and other visitors must check into the main office and provide a photo identification card that will be run through the RAPTOR visitor management system Visitors will get a sticky badge identifying the visitor, who they are visiting, the location they are visiting, and when they will be exiting The sticker badge must be returned to the office at the conclusion of the visit. We appreciate that all parents/caregivers and other visitors meet our expectations for supporting student, staff, and visitor safety

Our youngest learners, in the Kickoff to Kindergarten (K2K) classes will have age-appropriate specialized training in bus safety, traffic safety, following instructions from a crossing guard, fire, severe weather, and active threat procedures.

If students, parents/caregivers, or staff become aware of any potential or real safety issue or threat, they should notify the Summer School principal or teacher immediately. If the threat is urgent, individuals should dial 911.
