Bismarck Mandan Board of REALTORS® 2026 Candidates for Vice President, Director (1 seat, 3-year term), Medium Brokerage Director (39—10 Agents), 1 seat, 3 year term

All voting will be by electronic ballot. Members will receive an email on October 8 with a unique link that will take them to the ballot. Voting will close at 11:30 a.m. on October 15. Election results will be announced at the Member Connection on Thursday October 15, 2026.


Candidate for Vice President (moves on to President elect and President) Chris Morris Number of years you have been a Realtor: 12 years. Biographical Data (Education, Family): Married to Kim and we are blessed with 4 children, TayShaun, Oliver, Elliot, and our daughter Berkeley.

Local Board Involvement: BMBOR Member. I have been a director on the Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors® twice now and have served on the Professionalism Committee in the past. State Association Involvement: NDAR Member National Association Involvement: NAR Member Other community involvement, leadership roles held: I am constantly volunteering at my church, coaching Bismarck Youth Baseball, and volunteering out in the community when possible (summer meal program and Meals on Wheels for the Senior Center). Why are you running for this position? My hope is continuing to get a better understanding of the direction the Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors® is headed. I believe that my open mind set and willingness to adapt to situations, and follow things through would be a great asset to the Bismarck Mandan Board.


Candidate for Director, At Large (1 seat, 3-year term) Shawna Hastings Number of years you have been a Realtor: 7 years Biographical Data (Education, Family): I have spent more than 25 years working in sales and customer service, with my career eventually leading me into new construction, real estate, and property management. Much of my professional education has come through hands-on industry experience, continuing education, and leadership opportunities within the housing industry. Family is incredibly important to me. I am a mom to two daughters, Brynn and Presley, and a proud grandma to three grandsons. I have built both my career and my family here in the Bismarck-Mandan community, and I value the relationships and connections I have developed throughout the area over the years. Local Board Involvement: While I have not previously served in an official capacity with the Bismarck-Mandan Board of Realtors®, I am excited about the opportunity to become more involved and contribute my experience, perspective, and time to the organization and its members. State Association Involvement: NDAR Member National Association Involvement: NAR Member Other community involvement, leadership roles held: I currently serve as Chairwoman of the Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association Parade of Homes Committee. In this role, I work alongside local builders, industry professionals, and HBA leadership to help plan, organize, and promote one of our community’s largest annual housing events. This role has given me the opportunity to collaborate with professionals across many areas of the housing industry while contributing to an event that promotes both our local housing market and the BismarckMandan community. Candidates for Director, At Large (1 seat, 3-year term) Why are you running for this position? I am interested in serving on the Bismarck-Mandan Board of Realtors® because I would like to become more involved in our local Realtor® community and have a meaningful role in supporting the industry that I have built my career around. I believe I bring a unique perspective because my experience in housing extends beyond traditional real estate sales. I have worked directly for a local builder in new construction, represented buyers and sellers throughout the Bismarck-Mandan market, and currently work in both real estate and multifamily property management. I also serve as Chairwoman of the BismarckMandan HBA Parade of Homes Committee, which has given me valuable experience collaborating with builders, Realtors®, vendors, and other housing-industry professionals. If selected to serve, I hope to bring a practical, member-focused perspective to the Board, contribute new ideas, and be someone who is willing to listen, participate, and do the work. I would also like to help strengthen relationships within our local real estate and housing community and contribute to the continued success of the Bismarck-Mandan Board of Realtors® and its members.


Candidate for Director, Medium Brokerage (39-10 Agents) (1 seat, 3-year term) Meagan Heaton Number of years you have been a Realtor: 8 yrs. Biographical Data (Education, Family): I have a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Bemidji State University and an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Moorhead State Tech. I have been in Real Estate since 2010 working in various positions, from Property Management to New Home Construction, and Residential Real Estate as a REALTOR for the past 8 years, along with transaction and team management. I am a licensed agent in both Arizona and North Dakota. I recently moved back home to North Dakota with my husband and daughter, so we could be closer to family as she grows up. I was born and raised in ND and spent the last 5 years working as a REALTOR® in Arizona.

Local Board Involvement: BMBOR Member State Association Involvement: NDAR Member National Association Involvement: NAR Member Other community involvement, leadership roles held: Since recently returning to North Dakota, I am looking forward to becoming more involved in the local community. Prior to moving away, I regularly volunteered with community events and programs, including Backpack for Kids. Why are you running for this position? I am interested in becoming more involved in our local Real Estate community after returning to North Dakota. Having worked in several different areas of real estate, I’ve seen how valuable strong communication, education and support are for agents at every stage of their careers. I would like to bring the perspective of a local medium sized brokerage to the Board while also contributing ideas and experience that benefit our membership as a whole.
