It may never leave the ground, but the team behind the reconstruction of this 1943 Kittyhawk are flying high on the completion of the project – three years in the making. Classic plane restoration team head Bruce Chapman (pictured) never doubted they would fire up the P40E and take it for a taxi, but watching the propeller burst into life last week was an overwhelming thrill.
