Something wicked! Tauranga Musical Theatre has done it again. Following acclaimed productions of Matilda, Les Misérables and Jersey Boys, TMT’s latest large-scale production of Wicked is being shown at Baycourt Community and Arts Centre from
September 17 to October 3. The production promises to showcase the depth of musical theatre talent in our city. At the heart of Wicked is the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, pictured as played by Ashleen Fahy, the powerful and
misunderstood young woman, and Glinda, the popular and sparkling social star. Director David Adkins said the musical’s themes were as relevant as ever. “This globally beloved and monumentally
popular musical…is a story about identity, friendship, acceptance of difference and challenging narratives.” Find out more about the show, and how to get tickets, on page 23. Photo / Media Masters
