Guardians of the night As the light goes down, the incidence of crime in our neighbourhoods goes up – but groups of community-minded volunteers around the Western Bay are helping make a difference with regular night patrols.
The latest area to back plans for a community patrol group is Bethlehem, with hopes patrols will begin early next month. The groups, which are often called ‘night owls’, patrol the streets from Thursday to Saturday looking out for suspicious
