Strike out! Take a good look… because this’ll be the last time you’ll see the former RNZAF Strikemaster jet trainers flying New Zealand skies. The aircrafts’ last public appearance will be right here in Tauranga at the Classics of the Sky - Strikemasters at Sundown Tauranga City Airshow on Saturday, January 21. It’s also the last opportunity for anyone to ride in an aircraft that was the mainstay of the RNZAF strike force from 1970 to the mid-
1980s. Unless you visit Vegas, USA, where the former owner has sold his two Strikemasters. The BAC Strikemasters will join classic aircraft, sport aircraft, gliders and RC model aircraft at the airshow. To find out what else will be on display at the Classics of the Sky - Strikemasters at Sundown Tauranga City Airshow this Saturday, read page 45. Photo: Bruce Barnard.
