Shuffle and vine! Loud music, lots of vines and shuffles and loads of fun will ring from Katikati’s memorial hall this Sunday, as boot scooters from across the nation enjoy a Fundraiser Social. The event, hosted by Katikati’s Mural Town Line Dancers club, is an annual

fundraiser for Katikati St Peter’s Church, where the group dance weekly, and the local Hato Hone St John ambulance service. Pictured is long-time Katikati line dancer and tutor Lurline Plummer, left, and Jo Hurne, who with their fellow club

members will get more than an expected 100-odd visitors boot scooting and enjoying each other’s company for the two good causes. “It’s a lot of music, a lot of dancing and a lot of fun – it’s just lovely,” Plummer said. She got bitten by the line dancing

bug 18 years ago and has never stopped shuffling since. “It’s the music, the dance steps, it’s the people – it’s a very friendly club. I enjoy getting to know people and enjoy their company.” Find out more about the event and club on page 4. Photo / Merle Cave
