CELPIP expands for Canadian language proficiency index program. It is somewhere similar as the IELTS. It is an assessment tool which measures listening, writing, reading and speaking skills. The test is administrated by Paragon testing enterprises. The CELPIP test is offered in two versions: CELPIP GENERAL and CELPIP GENERAL –LS.

CELPIP-GENERAL is suitable for the persons who need the proof of English language skills applying for permanent residence of Canada. CELPIP- GENERAL LS is suitable for the persons who need the proof of speaking and listening proficiency of Canadian citizenship.

This is the test which is used to test the proficiency of the English language.

CELPIP GENERAL TEST:

LISTENING: Time allotted 47-55 minutes.

Total of seven components are being covered in it.

READING: Time allotted 55-60 minutes.

Four components are evolved in it.

SPEAKING: Time allotted 15-20 minutes.

Eight components are evolved in it.

WRITING: Time allotted 53-60 minutes.

Two components are being evolved in it.

SCORES:

Each components of CELPIP is determined with the CELPIP level from 1-12. There is no fixed level to judge the pass or fail .

The scores are calculated according to the Canadian language benchmarks (CLB) Levels.

ONLINE TEST: The result of the CELPIP is being declared in 8 business days but through express rating, the result is declared within 3-4 working days.

Additional score reports are only available for test that have been taken within the last 2 years.
