TUESDAY,

FEBRUARY 17, 2026

As the month of February celebrates the Heart, we are delighted to excite you with plans for our "Giving From the Heart Luncheon". This will be a fun filled afternoon centered on friendship, togetherness, and giving back.

Very briefly you are invited to shop at a Charity Thrift Store, Resale Charity Store, purchase something you like, save your receipt. Your purchase will serve as a donation to a local charity. You will then wear your outfit as part of our TNT fashion show. Be Creative! Participation in the charity fashion charity show is COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY. If you choose not to shop, come for the fun and laughter.

IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY, PAST, PRESENT AND UNCERTAIN FUTURE

Please join us:

Wednesday, January 14, 2026

Sunset View Clubhouse ~ Oasis Room

Registration: 6:30 pm ~ Meeting: 7 pm

JULIE MAKINEN is the:

• Former Executive Editor of the Desert Sun,

• Beijing Bureau Chief for the LA Times and

• Deputy Business Editor for the New York Times in Hong Kong.

She will speak of the surprisingly rich and delightfully eccentric media history in our valley and how the landscape is evolving in the digital world. It's a media ecosystem in transition and transformation: part contraction, part reinvention. It's a thoughtful, lively exploration for anyone invested in understanding the valley's past and its uncertain media future.

Our meeting will start promptly at 7PM, new members are welcome and may join at the door.

The FORUM Club meets the second Wednesday of months November through May. Questions? Call Brett Thompson, 310-766-5505.
