STAFF NEWS At the conclusion of this college year, we will be saying good-bye to two valued members of our team. Victoria and Nathan Boldt have been a part of the Summit Team for 7 and 6 years respectively. Nathan has served as our Director of Recruitment, and Victoria as our Assistant Omega Director. We thank them for their contributions to Summit life, and wish them God’s best in the days ahead! We are also excited to welcome Nathan Johnston in the role of Director of Recruitment. He will be serving with Nathan Boldt for the next 3 months.

FROM THE PRESIDENT
There is something unique that occurs in the life of a student on a Bible College campus. It is something best referred to as a “whole life transformation”. Students’ minds are shaped in our classrooms. There they hone the academic and critical thinking skills that will serve them moving forward. Personal growth occurs in our chapel and our dorms as students encounter God’s presence both individually and as a community. Living in a campus setting cements lifelong friendships and grows relational skills – something vital for students who will spend their lives serving people! At some point after we started this semester, I realized that 45 years ago, I enrolled as a freshman at Summit (or WPBC as it was known then). A lot of water has passed under the bridge since 1977 (both literally and figuratively)! However, while a lot has changed, a lot has remained the same. The message of the gospel – God’s reconciling love through Jesus – remains the same. The need for God’s people – the Church—to be salt and light in a troubled world remains the same. And the need for Spirit-empowered leaders for the Church remains the same. Pray with us that God will continue to call men and women into these vital roles for today and the future!

SUMMIT ’ S BC ROAD TRIP!
As many of you are aware, the flooding that impacted BC in November created a serious washout on our property that threatened our water main and gas line. Providentially, professionals were able to attend to the situation quickly, and the bank was stabilized. We are thankful for a friend of the college who undertook much of the cost of this significant repair.
For the month of May, we are hitting the road for an exciting province-wide road trip! Campus Pastors Gavin and Kim and our new Director of Recruitment Nathan will be touring the province to meet with Summit alumni, current students, and prospective students. Our team will be attending Sunday services, youth nights, and other events throughout the tour. We can’t wait for opportunities to catch up, eat together, share stories, and reminisce together while encouraging one another in continuing to follow God’s leading.
Our new graduate degree, the MA in Theology and Spiritual Leadership, has received its final approval from the Association for Biblical Higher Education. While the official launch of the degree will be in September 2022, students are currently enrolled in courses that will qualify in completion of that degree. A one-year Graduate Certificate in Youth Leadership has been launched this year. Under the leadership of Drs. Kirk Kauffeldt and Andrew Evans, 16 students have begun studying online in Africa.
We want to connect with as many members of our Summit community as possible! Dates and locations will be communicated through our social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook. Stay tuned, and we hope to see you soon!
Again this year, Summit will be able to award over $200,000.00 to students through our scholarship and bursary program. This next year will see a new initiative – an additional $1000.00 award to students living on our campus.
