MAKING MY BLOG INTERACTIVE

USING PLUGINS & HTML ➤

I intend to use plugins on my blog to connect it to my social media. Wix website builder has a build in plugin system called ‘Wix App Market’, where you can add forms, live chats and social media to your site.

There is a plugin to use HTML, so I will use this to embed powerpoint onto my site.

I will also hyperlink my Instagram and YouTube on my blog, to make it easier for my viewers to access my personal work, as well as my educational work. This will be at the top of the page or in a slideshow

DESIGN ➤

I will use colours that compliment each other. Below is the colour palette that I want to work:

Pastel colours are quite calming and easy on the eye and I think that the design of my blog will influence the organisation of my work. I wanted to incorporate marble into my blog, because I think it looks professional and will give my blog a ‘business’ look and feel. For my blog, I will have a white border around each post, to give the illusion of a polaroid picture and communicate that I do photography on my blog. I will use a blocklike design to insure I have an even balance between white space and my graphics and text. This minimalistic design will make it was for my viewers to locate my work

TYPOGRAPHY ➤

I will use sans-serif typography on my blog, to make everything easy to read. This typography is eye-catching and will give my blog a sense of professionalism.

NAVIGATION ➤

To make it easy to locate my work. I will have a navigation bar at the near the top of the pages, on every page.

I have also added a search bar from the WIX app market, so my viewers can search each blog post specifically, instead of having to locate them the long way.

SLIDESHOWS AND IMAGES ➤

To break up the plain text, I will add my photography and a slideshow to my homepage,this will make the homepage identifiable and will stand out from the other pages. This will be the first page that my viewers will see, so I want to impress them and want tot see more of my work. I have already added one slide of a slideshow on my homepage, but I intend to add more slides.

Each season, I will change my photography on my home, to suit the time of year.

As well as the option to embed your own powerpoints, you can also use WIX’s slideshow template and add your own text and images.
