FMP REFLECTIVE DIARY

WEEK 1 - 27TH FEBRUARY

RESEARCH â–¸ This week, we officially started Unit 8 and we have to make a drama or documentary drama. I began some research into what a TV drama is and posted it on my blog. I wrote about the different genres of TV drama and the conventions and iconography in TV drama. This research is very important as I have to know what my audience is expecting, so I can create a documentary drama that will appeal to my target audience. I also did some research into couple of the words we were given the chose using as our inspiration. I visited Norwich Crown Court a few days ago to research the atmosphere of a court waiting room.

WEEK 2 - 9TH MARCH

GALLERY TRIP â–¸ This week, I continued with my research on TV drama. We visited Project Space, a gallery near Tottenham Court Road.

Minnie Weisz, a photographer who has a series inspired by time/memory had an exhibition. I jotted down some of my thoughts about the photographer’s working took some pictures of her photographers. Earlier on this week, I did some research on the affect of imprisonment on families

WEEK 3 - 14TH MARCH

PROPOSAL â–¸ This week, I started working on my project proposal and I created a questionnaire, which I gave out to my peers.

WEEK 4 - 20TH MARCH

PRE-PRODUCTION â–¸ This week, I completed by production schedule and fathered by research, by comparing scenes from popular films that I like and thinking about how I can incorporate the same techniques into my documentary drama. I also did some confidence and team working activities, for example, we did the shape quiz and the marshmallow challenge

WEEK 5 -27TH MARCH

MORE RESEARCH â–¸ This week, I researched storyboarding and the Ken Burns effect. I am halfway through my pitch presentation for my documentary drama. I completed my treatment and project proposal, so now all I have to finish is my pitch and then hopefully, I can get on and find some actors.

WEEK 6 - 17TH APRIL

PRESENTATION AND STORYBOARD ▸ This week, I have my pitch presentation. I have finished by powerpoint and I’m to start on my script after I have done my presentation.

WEEK 7 -24TH APRIL

NARRATIVE - STRUCTURE ▸ This week I finished my storyboard and started on my script. I intend to film in the middle of May, but it may be sooner as I’ve finished half of my script.

WEEK 8-9 -1ST MAY-8TH MAY

FINALISING PRE-PRODUCTION â–¸ In the past two weeks, I have just been finishing off some last minute pre-production papers. I completed by risk assessment and release forms

WEEK 10-11 - 15TH MAY - 22MAY

CAST, CREW, EQUIPMENT & FILMING â–¸ In the last two weeks, I got my cast and crew together. I filmed on Thursday 18th May and Friday 19th May, I completed my call sheet, editing decision list and credits

WEEK 12-13 - 29TH MAY - 5TH JUNE

EDITING â–¸ For the past two weeks, I have been editing and making sure that I have all pre-production papers scanned and up on my blog. During editing, I added audio effects to make my actor sound as though they are on a speaker. Now that I have finished editing, I can show it to my peers on the 7th June, get some feedback and do my evaluation.
