BLACK NEGATIVE & WP SUPERSTARS
BLOG SITE COMPARISON
COLOUR Upon my first look at Black Negative, I could tell that the use of colour creates a sense of style and professionalism, as does the loading screen. You can swipe to move to the next page and because its interactivity right from the beginning, its intriguing and compels you to continue viewing their work. Although WP Superstars doesn't have a loading screen, it compels its viewers with the its use of b right, vibrant colours and the colours clash or compliment each other and this stands out.

NAVIGATION & HYPERLINKS ▸ One limitation on Black Negative is that because most of the website is interactive, sometimes its hard to click on button, if the mouse still think you are swipe to the next page. For example, I couldn't click the ‘launch the city of light’ button because the mouse was still showing the swiping animation. However I did not have this issue on WP Superstars as theatre and buttons underline themselves and brighten in colour when you hover over them and make it clear that you can click on them. again the use of colour makes this easier. Even though the navigation bar on Black Negative is interactive, I feel that WP Superstars’ navigation bar was much simpler and easy to understand and I could get to what I wanted quicker. I feel that sometimes ‘less is more’

LAYOUT
▸ WP Superstars layout is the layout that I want to achieve on my blog site. The block design is simple and gives you everything you need in one place. Although its simple, it still looks organised and professional. You can see what a post is about before you click on it, but you can’t do this on Black Negative, as easily, as the interactive design kind limits your ability to find things quickly. Black Negative’s layout is visually pleasing but just bit confusing. The deep colours create an inspirational atmosphere effectively.

INFLUENCE ON MY BLOG ▸ I feel that my blog is influence heavily by WP Superstars layout. I like the idea of using pastel or primary colours to draw attention to blog site’s conventions, such as, the navigation bar, buttons and social media. The swiping ability on Black Negative is very interesting and intriguing so I may incorporate it on my blog, possibly through a slideshow, to reduce the risk of limitations with the rest of my blog site. My navigation bar is very similar to the one on WP Superstars. So its easy to locate my work easily. I have used images and videos like both blog sites. Both sties are interactive and interesting and although interactivity can make a site look professional, there are limitations that you an come across, so I feel that I will stick with the block layout on my blog and add interactive elements to keep a balance.
