Miss Southern University Laboratory School
Cydney Raine Williams is the daughter of Marcia Williams and Harold Williams, granddaughter of Carolyn Stephens and Maurice Williams, Jr., and sister of Carrington Hall. She is a member of Greater New Guide Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mark Thomas, where she attends Sunday School and is actively involved in the Nursery Ministry. Cydney’s favorite Bible Scripture is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Cydney has attended Southern Lab for 15 years, beginning when she was in Pre-K. She is the former Miss Pre-K, Miss Kindergarten, Miss Second Grade, and Miss 7th Grade. She participated in the elementary track team and was a girls’ middle school basketball team member. Cydney has been on the President’s and Provost's Lists of Academics while attending Lab and was selected as the Power of “S” Star Student.
Cydney is currently a member of the SULS History Club, Senior Beta, and one of the SULS Football Trainers. She is also a junior board member of My Kid Plate Foundation, a foundation that creates access to nutritious foods and healthy communities.
Cydney has been passionate about dance since she was 18 months old with Lori’s School of Dance in Geismar, Louisiana. She has attended the Southern University Dancing Doll Camp for three years. She has also been a member of the SULS Dancing Dolls Dance Team since her 8th-grade year; her last two years she’s been captain.
Cydney plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette or THE Southern University A&M College after graduation, where she plans to continue to dance and major in Nursing to become a Pediatric ICU or Pediatric Oncology Nurse.
