Friday, September 28, 2018 - Issue 4 Man Arrested In Jeffersonville Charged With Raping Two 15-Year-Olds JEFFERSONVILLE - Miguel A. Ramos, 22, was arrested Wednesday (September 26) and faces multiple federal charges in connection with the alleged rape of two 15-year-old victims. It’s unclear at press time when or where the incidents occurred. Ramos was arraigned late Wednesday in Town of Callicoon Justice Court and remanded by Judge Edward T. McKenner to the Sullivan County Jail. The Sullivan Times can confirm that the suspect lived as a tenant in a house on Jefferson Avenue. A neighbor interviewed on the street Thursday said who did not want to be identified said she heard about the arrest but did not know the suspect and had no details about the alleged incidents. Attempts to reach District Attorney Jim Farrell and Undersheriff Eric Chaboty on Thursday and Friday were unsuccessful. Ellenville Shooting Suspect Settled Lawsuit With State, Ulster Police From 2009 Incident The Sullivan Times has learned exclusively from court documents that Joshua Stuart, the man wanted in connection with a shooting in Ellenville around 1 a.m. today, actually settled a lawsuit in 2014 with six law enforcement officers that included members of both New York State Police and the Ulster County Urgent Task Force. Stuart’s attorney, Michael Sussman, today urged his former client to surrender peacefully. “I’m appealing to
