Canada has always been a country of values values rooted in inclusivity, fairness, and a commitment to the well-being of all Canadians. We are a nation that thrives on our diversity, our openness, and our collective responsibility to shape a prosperous future for our children and grandchildren.
Let’s never forget that Canada is the best country in the world, and it’s our unwavering commitment to these values that makes us so. Together, we’ve proven time and again that we are stronger when we stand united. We’ve faced challenges from abroad, including the 2018 misguided tariffs imposed by U.S.
President Donald Trump. These tariffs were unjust, uncalled for, and a direct threat to our economy and hardworking Canadians. But instead of cowering, we stood strong. Our government responded decisively and with confidence. We took action, imposing retaliatory tariffs to protect our industries and workers. In the end, we demonstrated that Canada will always protect its people and defend its interests. Our resilience sent a clear message to the world: we will not be bullied, and we will never back down when it comes to standing up for what’s right. And we are ready to do it again.
At the same time, we continue to make critical investments in our future. On January 29th, 2025, we saw another Bank of Canada interest rate cut — a clear indication that we’re committed to supporting Canadians through challenging economic times and ensuring that growth remains strong for all.
We’ve also made significant strides in strengthening our border security to ensure that Canada remains safe, secure, and open to those who wish to contribute positively to our society. In addition, on January 28th, the government delivered a crucial report on foreign interference—an issue that has become a growing concern globally. We are taking proactive steps to safeguard our democracy and protect the integrity of our political institutions. Our government will continue to stand vigilant against threats both foreign and domestic, ensuring that Canadians’ voices remain the only ones that matter in our democratic process.
Together, we are building a future that is stronger, more secure, and more prosperous. While there will always be challenges ahead, one thing is certain: Canada will stand strong.
Thank you for your continued support, and for the honour of representing you in Ottawa. Let’s keep moving forward, as one nation, with pride and determination.
