A TOAST TO Enjoy A Fun Experience At Romano Vineyard & Winery In Nearby Brandywine, Md By Tommi The next time you plan to head out to the city, over the river and through the woods….no, that’s another story. And this is something very different. This is about cool breezes on a shaded porch, good friends and the only sounds are the tinkling of wine glasses and hearty-natured laughter. It’s southern Prince George’s County’s very own Romano Vineyard & Winery, just 35 minutes southeast of Washington, D.C. Romano Vineyard & Winery is family owned and operated by husband and wife team Joe and Jo-Ann Romano. Celebrating their five year anniversary, Romano holds several award-winning wines and it is Prince George’s County’s only winery. But the beauty of Romano Vineyard and Winery is that while it produces some of the greatest full-bodied reds and refreshing whites in the region, it always produces great memories. With consistently favorable online ratings with both experts and consumers, the winery is welcoming and friendly—a high-spirited, great afternoon. Recently expanded hours on Fridays and Saturdays (1 pm - 6 pm) add to the perfect setting for an afternoon escape. Among the favorite wines are the 10
Liberty, Jubilee, and Chamburcin (touted to be one great, dry red). Along with the excellent quality, Romano wines are affordably priced -averaging around $15 a bottle. Summer refreshments are an extra treat. Several tasty frozen drinks are blended into the standard wine tasting menu at Romano Vineyard & Winery. If you have no idea what your tastes in wines are, there’s help: wine tastings. The winery is open for tastings every Saturday noon to 5 pm. By the bottle or by the case, you will have pleasant memories of your day at the Vineyard. In addition to the wine tastings, Romano also offers outdoor music and food events in the summer. There will be many special events and wine fun. Check out music in the vineyard, including: southern Maryland’s own John Luskey (August 12) and Valentine & Friends and Vendor Fair (August 26).
