Ever since I was little I have been bulding a brand of kindness with my mom. It’s called sugarlump– the loving feeling in your heart when you’re unconditionally kind.

It’s about mentoring little kids, using social media for good, and rebuilding our neighborhoods one surprise act of sweetness at a time. ®

In the summer of 2019, we worked with the mayor to turn Lake Oswego into the “City of Sweetness.” We partnered with local businesses, designed a mobile kindness shop, created an app for kindness challenges, hosted events and joined the 4th of July parade. Audi sponsored sugarlump, and a new Q7 with a sugarlump vinyl wrap pulled our kindness mobile. Every Wednesday we set up our mobile kindness shop at Bridgeport Village for Family Fun day, and every Thursday we did movies in the park. It was my mom, her 3 best friends and all of us kids together. Over the summer we built a kindness campaign and challenged our community to create 5,000 “Surprise Acts of Sweetness.” At the end of the summer we had a big event with young Portland Thorns soccer star Olivia Moultrie, to benefit Friends of the Children. Kids from all over decorated and donated over 100 sugarlumps to “friends” they didn’t even know.

The best part was watching the little kids and their inherent kindness THRIVE. It brought out the best in all of us, and everyone we came into contact with. It was pure magic.

local business sponsors Scanning a sugarlump sticker on a store window with their app, kids watch a kindness challenge animation. Once completed, a certificate pops up in the app’s backpack. They can then show the app to the store vendor for their treat!
