Office Orioles takes care of commercial moving needs The name of the game in today’s hustle and bustle world is speed and accuracy – but more often the former. NEW ATTRACTIONS OPENING AROUND FORT BEND By Landan Kuhlmann LKuhlmann@fortbendstar.com Another high-profile restaurant is opening its doors at Stafford’s newest mixed-use development. Another new business allows area residents to combine the necessity of a haircut with the luxury of a good time. Earlier this month, Pluckers announced that the company will open its newest location Jan. 27 at The Grid at 12469 Hwy. 59. It will be the fifth location in the Greater Houston region for the Austin-based wing joint. “We are filled with excitement to be opening our 25th restaurant in the city that has proved to be one of our most successful markets.” Pluckers co-founder Dave Paul said in a news release. The restaurant specializes in traditional and boneless wings, which can be flavored with more than 20 homemade sauces and dry rubs. Pluckers also serves dozens of salads, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and desserts. For more information, visit pluckers.com.

In Sugar Land, Connecticut-based Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids opened its doors on Jan. 11. Younger children can sit in a Lightning McQueen race car, police cruiser, Buzz Lightyear, a Hummer and other themed seats while watching cartoons or Netflix.

HELPING DECLUTTER BUSINESS LIFE COVER STORY

It never fails – at the worst possible time, your company announces that the lease on its building is up or the price has risen, and a crunch has necessitated moving to a different location. So now, on top of focusing on bottom lines and employee performance, having to pack up those office chairs, cubicles and desks adds another layer of stress to the daily job. But what if there was someone out there willing to take on those tasks in order to help keep you running in the midst of a move so you don’t have to? Since opening just last year, Houston-based Office Orioles and its staff have dedicated themselves to helping businesses improve their office space and thereby their productivity. Founded when a subsidiary company couldn’t find reasonably priced options to help break down office cubes, install new furniture and hang wall mounts, Vice President Mickey Beavan said Office Orioles was launched in September 2019 to help other commercial businesses tackle projects they would rather avoid. Though Houston-based, Office Orioles has also done work for commercial businesses in Sugar Land and surrounding Houston Metro areas. “The issue was, ‘How do we get the cubicles and furniture out of here and who to call?’ ” Beavan said. “We couldn’t find anyone who was readily available to do that in that sense. That’s how the inspiration happened. We thought, ‘We’ve got a skill in that area. Could we do more with that? Were there other companies that need it the way we did?’ ” Beavan has 20 years of experience in facility management, having worked in the field at SMU, Tulane, Rice and Houston

Beavan Baptist University as well as setting up the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Office Orioles offer businesses everything from furniture assembly to decluttering to hauling away that spare room full of chairs that don’t work anymore. “We’re not a furniture company, and we’re not a moving company,” Beavan said. “But we can help you find furniture and help you move.” Office Orioles can disassemble your

Area hospital earns accreditation for breast care program From Staff Reports The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) recently awarded three-year accreditation to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital for its breast care services. In order to earn the accreditation, the hospital had to demonstrate compliance with the NAPBC standards that review leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement. Applicants undergo a site visit every three years, according to a news release from the hospital. “Our patients and their families depend on our commitment to provide the highest level of care, most advanced technology and survivorship support from the moment of diagnosis,” said Amy Sebastian-Deutsch, director of oncology and infusion services at Houston Methodist Sugar Land. “We are
