Ride the rails of a world-famous train to the world’s best fun on wooden runners: That’s sledging adventure at Preda / Darlux – Bergün. Your journey starts with your train going through deep tunnels and over high viaducts. The line runs downhill from Preda taking you to the start of your sixkilometre sledge descent down to Bergün. You slide around at least as many curves as the train does. But it feels much faster. Instead of travelling from Preda to Bergün, keen sledgers can take the steep slope from Darlux to Bergün.

Chur / St. Moritz – Tirano The Albula and Bernina lines of the Rhaetian Railway offer one of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps. As it snakes up and down hill, the train manages – without a rack mechanism of any kind – to make light work of inclines of up to 70 millimetres per metre. The snow-clad high-point of the RhB is Ospizio Bernina, at 2,253 metres above sea level. Our comfortable observation cars offer the best way to enjoy the impressive panoramic views of the white, snow-clad mountains.

Passing by mighty glaciers and frozen lakes, and crossing vast expanses of snowy Alpine meadow, the Bernina Express runs through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges. The museum takes railway fans on a journey back in time. A simulator installed on a legendary Crocodile locomotive lets visitors „drive“ the train. More than 400 exhibits bear witness to the pioneering age of Graubünden, showing how the people, the railway and the landscape all left their mark on each other.

The Albula and Bernina lines, which have now been endowed with UNESCO World Heritage status, are true masterpieces of engineering from the pioneering days of railway construction. Starting out from Thusis, the line wends its way through three local cultures, two language areas and past a wealth of spectacular sights.

Browsing and shopping, topped off with great dining: The Rhaetian Railway brings bargain-hunters to the first Alpine outlet village in Switzerland. Shoppers of all ages come to Landquart, and its 650-metre-long Main Street, to seek out branded articles at reduced prices. And canny bargain-hunters get home free – with the RhB.

From Chur or Davos: The Engadin Tour gets you there. Over towering viaducts and through winding tunnels to Filisur and St. Moritz, or through the Inn Valley to Zernez. Visit the Segantini Museum in St. Moritz town, or stroll along the banks of Lake St. Moritz.

The view during the early morning is covered by a massive carpet of cloud, but this soon clears to reveal impressive panoramic vistas of Val Poschiavo and the backdrop of the Bergamasker Alps. Take a seat on the terrace, and enjoy a plate of pizzoccheri.

With natural mineral water for the good of your body and your general well-being. The spa town of Bad Scuol has eight different swimming pools. The pool at Alvaneu in the Albula valley is small but elegant.

Carefree winter fun is the order of the day.

Day passes for the winter-sports regions of Engadin / St. Moritz, Scuol / Motta Naluns, Davos / Klosters and Arosa turn into train tickets for a supplement of just one Swiss franc – available at all RhB ticket offices.

Your return trip is then virtually free.

Travel at will throughout our canton, with the graubündenPASS. Climb aboard to enjoy the sunny side of Graubünden. You can travel on three days in any one week, or on five days in two weeks, with the opportunity to explore 7,106 km2 of the real Switzerland.

Useful tip: Segantini Museum The great artist spent the last five years of his life in the Engadin.

Useful tip: Full-moon ride Experience, by the light of the full moon, a truly breathtaking journey aboard an observation car departing from Engadin, travelling onward to Alp Grüm.

Useful Tipp: Gourmino The Gourmino follows the spectacular Albula section of the line from St. Moritz to Chur, letting you indulge in the twin delights of a gourmet meal combined with the dining car.
