WELCOME TO THE ST. FRANCIS HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS GUILD
ABOUT THE GUILD……. The St. Francis High School Parents Guild was created to “advance and promote the spiritual and temporal welfare of the students of St. Francis High School”, “to cooperate with the faculty in maintaining the high standards of the school”, “to advance the cause of education”, “to promote mutual acquaintance and good fellowship among members of the association, faculty, administration and students” and “to promote the ideals and beliefs of St. Francis of Assisi”. * From the St. Francis Parents’ Guild Constitution
The Parents Guild serves to foster relationships between school and parents, parents and son, and families and God through the many events it sponsors each year, some of which are listed in this brochure. The many parties, get-togethers and fundraisers are a great way to share in the St. Francis experience, as well as being a lot of fun! We invite all parents and guardians to be actively involved in their son’s high school experience.
MEMBERSHIP……… Parents and Guardians of a student who is currently attending St. Francis High School are automatically enrolled and considered a General Member and have the rights to hold Guild office, volunteer & chair events and to vote at all General Meetings. Guild members seeking to take a more active role are encouraged to seek appointment to the Guild Board of Directors. Board of Director Membership allows parents and guardians to hold Guild office or to further assist the Guild Officers in the
operation of the Guild. All members are invited to the Board of Directors meetings. Alumni Parents wishing to continue their involvement with St. Francis High School and the Guild are encouraged to seek appointment to the Board of Directors.

GUILD OFFICERS……

Guild Officers are nominated from the Board of Directors and elected each year at the May meeting, taking office in June. Officers may be individual members or a married couple who then share the office’s duties. Officers serve for oneyear terms, with the exception of the Vice President who automatically becomes the President the following year.

MEETINGS…… General Meetings are held at least three times per school calendar year and are held in conjunction with Parent-Teacher Conferences. Board of Director meetings are held four times during the school year and are open to all members.

ABOUT JUSTINIAN…… A major endeavor of the Parents Guild is the Justinian which has been held every year since 1981. The Justinian Dinner-Auction has become the largest fundraiser at St. Francis High School having raised almost 4 million over the last 41 years. The Justinian is an elegant evening with an open bar, gourmet dinner, silent auction, and a spirited verbal auction. Preparations for the Justinian begin almost immediately at the conclusion of the previous one. Gift Gathering Parties held throughout the year by Guild members are a fun way to help St. Francis High School, meet new friends and gather gifts that will later be auctioned off at the Justinian.
